September 29, 2026: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is carrying out the second and final scheduled day of seat allotment processing for NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 3. Processing runs across September 28 and 29, and the allotment result is scheduled for September 30.

If you are waiting for a seat or hoping for an upgrade, your next step is to check your allotment status once the result is released. No fresh registration or choice filling is scheduled for September 29.

What is happening today?

Registration closed at 3 pm on September 27, and fee payment was allowed until 6 pm. Choice filling and locking ended at noon on September 28. All these deadlines followed MCC’s server time.

MCC is now matching the submitted preferences against candidates’ NEET merit and the available seats. Depending on the outcome, you may get a fresh allotment, move to a higher preference, or keep your earlier seat if you are not upgraded.

Latest Round 3 vacancy figures

The Round 3 PDFs currently linked on MCC’s website show three separate categories:

• Clear vacancies: 6,191
• Virtual vacancies: 10,808
• Newly added MBBS and BDS seats: 183

The clear and virtual vacancy documents cover MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing seats. Please check the entries for your own course, quota and category, and do not assume that every listed seat is available to you.

The newly added list includes 100 BDS seats at Datta Meghe Dental College, Nagpur, and 50 MBBS seats at Vinayaka Missions Medical College, Karaikal.

One important caution: do not add these numbers together into one total of confirmed available seats. Virtual vacancies may become available when existing candidates get an upgrade. They are not vacant right now.

Result date and reporting schedule

The official schedule gives September 30 as the result date but does not mention a release time. Do not rely on unofficial posts that claim a fixed announcement time.

Once the result is out, log in to the official MCC counselling portal and open the seat allotment result section. Check your allotted institute, course, category and quota, and download your allotment letter when it is available.

Physical reporting at the allotted institutes is scheduled from October 1 to October 9, 2026. Verification and sharing of joined candidates’ data will follow on October 10.

Important rules before joining

Under the revised counselling bulletin, physical reporting is compulsory for candidates allotted seats in Round 3. This also applies to Round 1 and Round 2 float candidates who sought an upgrade but kept their earlier seats.

If you are allotted a Round 3 seat and do not report, you will lose your security deposit and be excluded from further counselling rounds. Once you join a Round 3 seat, resignation is not permitted under the counselling scheme.

For now, keep your admission documents ready, check your allotted college’s fee and reporting requirements once the result arrives, and follow official updates. Preparing early can help you avoid a last-minute rush during admission.
