MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery) is an undergraduate-level medical degree. This programme deals with imparting the right knowledge for students to conduct diagnoses, find treatment and medicines and also perform surgeries on patients. Through this degree, individuals fulfil their dream of becoming a doctor. MBBS is a professional degree in the medical science field. For getting into the MBBS programme, students are required to clear the NEET exam.
MBBS is a 5 ½ year-long course. It includes one year of rotator internship at hospitals, health centres and health camps organized by non-profit organizations (NGOs). This degree is offered only in full-time degree mode. During the MBBS programme, students get to learn practical and theoretical lessons related to medical science. Every year around 18 lakh students aspiring to pursue an MBBS course.
After the MBBS degree, graduates can use Dr. with their names. MBBS students can also work in both private and public hospitals, on trains or in military forces. If they want to study further, they can also pursue postgraduate medical degrees like MD, and MBA after receiving an MBBS degree.
