MCC has not released the NEET UG 2026 counselling schedule yet. As of today its schedule page carries no posts, and the most recent All India Quota notice on mcc.nic.in is the CW verification notice dated 24 July 2026. Any Round 1 date you have seen quoted is a projection by a news portal, not something MCC has said.

Three things MCC changed for 2026
The Health Ministry wrote to the states on 28 July 2026 setting out changes MCC has made to the counselling process for this session. These are announced rather than projected, and two of them change what you actually have to do.
- No physical reporting if you are trying to upgrade. If you have been allotted a seat and opt for upgradation in a later round, you no longer have to travel to the allotted college merely to complete admission formalities. Your admission stays valid in the counselling system while you take part in subsequent rounds, subject to the applicable counselling rules.
- Resignation can be submitted online. Where the counselling rules permit resignation and you are inside the prescribed window, you can now submit it through the MCC counselling portal instead of physically at the allotted institution.
- NRI documents upload on the portal. Candidates seeking NRI reservation in deemed universities can now upload their supporting documents online. The eligibility rules and the documents themselves are unchanged, only the submission moves.

If you sat the cancelled 3 May exam, check your refund
The 3 May 2026 sitting was cancelled and NTA is refunding the application fee. The window to submit or confirm your bank details on neet.nta.nic.in closes on 31 July 2026 at 11:50 PM. If you have not done it, do it before you read the rest of this page.
How All India Quota counselling has worked
MCC has not confirmed the round structure for 2026, so treat this as the shape of previous years rather than a promise about this one. In recent cycles MCC ran four rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and a Stray Vacancy Round. Each round follows the same sequence.
- Register on mcc.nic.in and pay the fee for that round
- Fill and lock your choices of college and course
- Seat allotment is published
- Report to the allotted college with your documents inside the reporting window
All India Quota covers 15 per cent of state government medical college seats, plus central universities, deemed universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC and AFMC. The remaining 85 per cent of state seats are handled by each state's own counselling authority on its own schedule.
Documents to have ready now
You do not need to wait for the schedule to get this done. Every year students lose a round because a certificate was not ready in time.
- NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard
- Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and passing certificates
- Birth certificate
- Photo identity proof, Aadhaar or passport
- Eight to ten passport size photographs matching the one on your admit card
- Caste or category certificate in the central government format, if you are claiming a reserved seat
- PwD certificate from a designated centre, if applicable
Check your rank against the ranks that actually got seats
MCC publishes the full allotment list for every round, so the closing ranks are a matter of record rather than an estimate. We have read all of them, from 2020 to 2025. Put your rank into the NEET college predictor to see which colleges took it, or open closing ranks by college, where every number links back to the MCC document it came from.
A rank that gets you nothing in All India Quota may still get you a state quota seat, and the predictor says so plainly rather than padding the list.
