CLAT 2027 is on Sunday 6 December 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Applications open on 3 August 2026 and close on 31 October 2026.
Yes, the name is confusing
The exam sat in December 2026 is called CLAT 2027. CLAT is named after the admission year, not the year you sit the paper. So CLAT 2027 gets you a seat for the 2027 academic session. The previous edition, CLAT 2026, was held on 7 December 2025. If a site is advertising a "CLAT 2026" happening this December, it has the name wrong.

Syllabus and pattern
At its Governing Body meeting on 18 July 2026 the Consortium resolved that there will be no change to the syllabus, pattern or sections of the UG and PG papers for CLAT 2027. If you have already started preparing, nothing about your plan needs to change.
What has not been announced
The 22 July press release is one page. It gives the exam date, the timing and the application window, and says further details will be notified in due course. Several websites are calling that press release "the notification". It is not. The detailed notification and information brochure, which is where the fee, the eligibility detail and the list of participating National Law Universities live, has not been published.
We are not quoting an application fee or a count of participating universities on this page, because the sources that do are contradicting each other. Both will be in the brochure. We will add them when it is out.
