There’s good news for medical and dental aspirants in Bihar. The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) released the UGMAC 2026 Round 2 provisional seat allotment result on 25 September, and the next big step — document verification and admission — has already begun. This process runs from today, 27 September, till 29 September.

If you find your name in the allotment list, don’t sit on it. Go to the BCECEB portal and download your Provisional Seat Allotment Order any time between 25 and 29 September. Before doing anything else, double-check the college, course, category, and round status shown against your name.

Freeze or float — what’s the difference?

This is where a lot of candidates get confused, so let’s keep it simple.

  • Freeze means you’re happy with the seat you’ve got and don’t want to be considered for anything better later. If you choose this, you need to personally go to your allotted college with your original documents between 27 and 29 September to finish verification and admission.
  • Float means you want to hold on to this seat for now, but you’re still hoping for something better in the next round. If you Float, you usually don’t need to visit the college right away — your documents, already uploaded online, get verified as per BCECEB’s process.

What if you don’t report on time?

If you’re a Freeze candidate and you don’t show up at the college by 29 September, your seat can simply be taken away — and you could also lose your security deposit. On top of that, if any of your uploaded documents are blurry, incomplete, or don’t match your details, you may get an SMS or email asking you to fix them. Don’t ignore that message; sort it out right away so your admission doesn’t get cancelled at the last moment.

Documents to keep ready

Carry the originals of all of these:

  • NEET UG 2026 Admit Card and Score Card
  • UGMAC 2026 Rank Card
  • Matric (10th) and Intermediate (12th) certificates and mark sheets
  • Residential certificate
  • Caste or EWS certificate, if you have one
  • UGMAC confirmation page (printed)
  • Six passport-size photographs (same as on your NEET admit card)
  • Aadhaar card
  • Check slip and biometric identification report form

If you’re applying under the PwD/DQ category, also carry your UDID card and the required certificates

New colleges added this round

Round 2 has brought a bigger seat matrix, with new institutions joining the list — Shri Ram Janki Medical College in Samastipur, Government Medical College in Chapra, Kurma Sanskriti Medical College in Jehanabad, and Mamta Medical College in Siwan. A few existing private colleges have also added extra seats, so more students now have a shot at admission.

A word of caution if you’ve got a private college seat

Before you finalise your admission, take a look at the fee structure on the college’s own website. The security deposit — ₹2 lakh for private medical colleges and ₹50,000 for private dental colleges — is separate from the actual tuition fee, so don’t assume the counselling portal tells you the full cost. Check directly with the college.

What about Round 3?

BCECEB hasn’t announced Round 3 dates yet, so wait for the official notice before making any plans. And if you decide to resign from your Round 2 seat, or you simply don’t take admission, keep in mind that your eligibility for Round 3 will depend on the board’s future rules — don’t assume anything until it’s officially announced.

Getting a seat allotted isn’t the finish line — it’s just the next step. If you’ve chosen to Freeze, you must physically report between 27 and 29 September. Keep all your documents organised, reach the college early, and finish the process well before the deadline. You’re this close to your medical seat — don’t let a missed date get in the way.
