Looking for an MBBS or BDS seat in West Bengal? Today is an important day. From 11 AM on September 29, 2026, the West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) begins Round 3 candidate verification.
One thing to get right from the start: verification begins today, but Round 3 registration is not closing today. You can still register till 6 PM on September 30, and pay the fee till midnight on September 30.
What is happening today?
Under WBMCC’s revised schedule dated 17 September 2026, in-person document verification will take place on September 29, 30 and October 1, from 11 AM to 4 PM each day.
You cannot walk into any centre you like. Once you register and pay, the system gives you a fixed college and time slot. Both are printed in your Candidate Profile Letter. Take that letter with you and go only to the venue mentioned in it.
NRI quota candidates are treated differently for this pre-choice physical verification. They need to follow the separate NRI instructions.
Registration and fee payment are two different steps
Filling the form alone does not complete the process. Registration closes at 6 PM on September 30, but the payment gateway stays open till midnight. Your Candidate Profile Letter is generated only after the payment goes through, and your verification details show up only after that.
Here are the amounts to keep in mind:
- Counselling fee: ₹2,000 for UR candidates and ₹1,500 for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EWS candidates.
- Security deposit for private college seats: ₹2 lakh (State Quota) and ₹5 lakh (Management Quota).
- The counselling fee cannot be refunded.
Documents you must carry
Bring the originals and one set of self-attested photocopies. For State Quota candidates, these are the main documents:
- Candidate Profile Letter and payment receipt
- West Bengal domicile certificate (Proforma A1/A2/B or valid e-district domicile)
- West Bengal-issued caste/EWS certificate (if applicable)
- NEET UG 2026 Admit Card and Rank Card
- Age proof and Class 12 marksheet
- Prescribed medical certificate
- PwD certificate (if applicable)
If your certificate was issued by another state, you will not get the reserved-category benefit under West Bengal State Quota, and you may be treated as UR.
Management Quota works differently. No domicile certificate is needed, and candidates from outside West Bengal can apply for these seats too.

Why verification matters so much
Only candidates whose names are in the verified list, released on October 1, can fill choices. Choice filling opens at 6 PM on 1 October and closes at 10 AM on 4 October.
Also remember that choice upgradation is not allowed in Round 3. So, plan your preference list carefully before you begin.
Round 3 is not your last chance. An Online Stray Vacancy Round is scheduled from mid-October, and its result is expected around 23 October.
What to do right now
- Check that your Round 3 registration and fee payment are complete.
- Download and save your Candidate Profile Letter.
- Note your verification venue and time slot.
- Keep all originals and photocopies ready.
- Double-check your domicile, category, EWS and PwD certificates. The format and validity should be correct.
- After verification, watch for the verified list and seat matrix on 1 October.
- Start preparing your college preference list for choice filling.
