Kolkata, September 28, 2026:

The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) is starting online registration for NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 3 today, September 28, at 11 AM. If you're a NEET UG-qualified candidate, you can apply for MBBS and BDS seats through the official WBMCC counselling portal.

As per the revised tentative schedule from WBMCC, the Round 3 registration window will stay open till September 30, 2026, 6 PM. However, the online fee payment facility will remain available a little longer — till 12 midnight on September 30.

This round covers State Quota seats in government and private medical and dental colleges, Private College Management Quota seats, and NRI Quota seats in private medical colleges.

WBMCC NEET UG Round 3 2026 Schedule

Here are the important dates to keep track of:

  • Online registration: September 28, 11 AM to September 30, 6 PM
  • Fee payment: September 28, 11 AM to September 30, 12 midnight
  • Physical document verification: September 29, 30 and October 1, from 11 AM to 4 PM
  • Seat matrix and verified candidates list: October 1, after 5 PM
  • Choice filling and locking: October 1, 6 PM to October 4, 10 AM
  • Round 3 allotment result: October 8, after 4 PM
  • Reporting and admission: October 12, 13 and 14, from 10 AM to 4 PM

Fresh Registration Is Allowed This Round

Here's a key update — WBMCC is letting candidates register fresh in Round 3. If you're a NEET UG 2026-qualified candidate who didn't take part in the earlier rounds, you can now register, pay the fee, complete document verification, and fill your choices.

If you were successfully verified in Round 1 or Round 2 but didn't get a seat, you can also join Round 3 — and generally, you won't need to pay the counselling fee again to submit fresh choices.

That said, if you were allotted a seat in Round 2 but didn't report for it, you may need to pay the counselling fee and security deposit again before joining Round 3.

Fees and Security Deposit for Private Colleges

The counselling fee is ₹2,000 for Unreserved candidates and ₹1,500 for SC, ST, OBC, PwD and EWS candidates. This fee doesn't get refunded.

If you're planning to choose a private college seat, it helps to understand the security deposit rules too. For Private College State Quota choices, the deposit is ₹2 lakh. For Private Management Quota choices, it's ₹5 lakh.

No Choice Upgradation This Time

One thing to be extra careful about — WBMCC has made it clear that choice upgradation will not be available in Round 3.

Only candidates who've been successfully verified will be able to fill choices once the Round 3 seat matrix comes out on October 1. Make sure you save and lock your preferences before the deadline, since only locked choices will count for seat allotment.

Rules for State, Management and NRI Quota

West Bengal domicile is compulsory for State Quota seats. Candidates from other states, though, can apply for eligible Private Management Quota seats, as long as they meet NEET qualification and WBMCC rules.

NRI Quota is available only in private medical colleges. If you choose the NRI category, you can't also opt for State Quota or Management Quota seats at the same time.

If you get a Round 3 seat, you'll need to report to your allotted institute between October 12 and October 14. If you don't report, you risk losing your security deposit and getting disqualified from further counselling rounds.
