The wait is finally over for medical aspirants in Uttar Pradesh. The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh has released the UP NEET UG 2026 Round 2 seat allotment result today, 25 September 2026.

A look at the numbers: who's competing for what?

Before getting to the results, let's look at the playing field. For Round 2, a total of 33,043 candidates were eligible for choice filling. These candidates are competing for 3,656 vacant MBBS and BDS seats in total.

Here's how those seats are divided:

  • Total MBBS seats: 3,108 (370 Government + 2,738 Private)
  • Total BDS seats: 548 (26 Government + 522 Private)

As these numbers show, a large chunk of the available seats are in private colleges, while government seats are quite limited. So, if you see a private college allotment, weigh your options carefully before deciding.

How to check your allotment result

Checking your result is straightforward — just follow these steps:

  • Visit the official UP NEET portal: upneet.gov.in
  • Click on the UP-NEET UG counselling/result section.
  • Look for the link that says "Round 2 Seat Allotment Result".
  • On the result page, enter your course, roll number, registered email ID, and the CAPTCHA code shown on screen.
  • Click submit to view your allotment status.
  • If you've been allotted a seat, download your allotment letter right away.

What to do if you get a seat

If the screen shows you've been allotted a seat, congratulations — but the job isn't done yet. You must complete your admission formalities by reporting to your allotted college between 26 September and 1 October 2026.

When you go to the college, carry your allotment letter along with all your original documents (NEET scorecard, Class 10- and 12-mark sheets, domicile certificate, and category certificates if applicable). You'll also need to pay the required admission and tuition fees.

A friendly warning: don't wait until October 1 to report. Missing this deadline means losing your seat, and nobody wants that after coming this far.

What if you don't get a seat?

Didn't get a seat in Round 2? Don't panic. Missing out in this round doesn't mean you're out of the counselling process altogether — you'll still be eligible for the next rounds, as long as you follow DGME's guidelines.

That said, keep this in mind: if you were allotted a seat in Round 2 but choose not to take it, there could be consequences. You might lose your security deposit and could be asked to make a fresh security payment to take part in the next round.

You might remember that Round 1 results were first declared on 7 September, but after an order from the Allahabad High Court regarding reservation rules in four government medical colleges, the entire Round 1 process was cancelled and redone.
