The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the notification of the NEET UG 2024 exam on 9 February 2024.  It has also started the NEET UG 2024 registration on February 9, 2024. The aspirants who are planning to apply for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) 2024 can do it through the official website of NTA NEET at neet.ntaonline.in. According to the notification released by the NTA, the last date to apply for this exam is March 9, 2024.

The students who have appeared for the Class 12 board examination and have passed the examination or they are waiting for their results, can apply for the medical entrance test. The students who have passed Class 12 from Open School or as private students are not allowed to appear for the ‘National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test’.

The NEET UG 2024 examination is going to be conducted on May 5, 2024. The total duration of the NEET UG 2024 examination is 3 hours and 20 minutes. The Test pattern of NEET (UG) - 2023 comprises four Subjects. Each subject will consist of two sections. Section A will consist of 35 Questions and Section B will have 15 Questions, out of these 15 Questions, the students can choose to attempt any 10 Questions. So, the total number of questions and time utilisation will remain the same.

The application fee to apply NEET UG is ₹1700/- for students who belong to the General/ NRI category, ₹1600/- for the aspirants who belong to the General-EWS/ OBC-NCL category and ₹1000/- for the aspirants who belong to the SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender categories. The payment should be done through online mode.

What are the eligibility requirements for the NEET UG 2024 examination?

Anybody who is planning to appear in the NEET UG 2024 exam should first ensure that he/she meets the below-mentioned eligibility requirements of this exam. It is mandatory to fulfil the requirements of the NEET UG 2024 exam. In case the student doesn't meet the eligibility requirements of the examination, he/she will not be allowed to sit in the exam. Hence it is very important to meet the eligibility criteria of the NEET UG 2024 exam.

  • The student should have completed 17 years by 31 December 2024 to appear for NEET 2024.

  • The student should be an Indian citizen, Non-Resident Indian (NRI), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Person of Indian Origin (PIO), or Foreign National.

  • The student should have cleared/passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination to appear in the NEET UG 2024 exam. 

  • The student who is appearing in his/her 10+2 exam can also apply for this exam.

  • The student should have studied physics, chemistry, biology, and English subjects from a recognized board.

  • The student should have scored at least 50% marks in physics, chemistry, and biology in the qualifying examination. The students who belong to the SC, ST, and OBC-NCL categories, should score at least 40% marks.

What steps are needed while filling out the NEET UG 2024 application form?

The aspirants should follow the below-mentioned steps while filling out the NEET UG 2024 application form.

  • First, the student will go to the official website of NEET 2024 – neet.ntaonline.in or directly enter the link https://neet.ntaonline.in/frontend/web/registration/index?-open-reg
  • Now the student will click on the ‘New Candidate’ Register button.
  • Then the student will read the instructions and click on the checkbox and ‘Click to Proceed’ tab.
  • Now the student will select the Identification Type.
  • Then, the student will enter the mandatory details and verify.
  • Enter the OTP and Submit
  • Once the Username and Password are generated, the student will log in to fill out the NEET 2024 application form.
  • Now the student will fill up the mandatory fields.
  • Then, the student will upload the requisite documents in the specified sizes and dimensions.
  • At the end, the student will pay the application fee using Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking and UPI.
  • Once the payment is done, the student will submit the form and save a copy of it for future use.

  • Class 10 details and Class 12 details (Marksheet, certificate, roll number, school address, and other details)
