Here's some important news for medical aspirants in Madhya Pradesh. The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Bhopal, has started fresh registration for the Mop-Up Round of MP State Combined NEET UG Counselling 2026-27, for MBBS and BDS admissions, from today, September 28.

If you've qualified NEET UG 2026 and are still waiting for a seat, this round matters a lot for you. We know the counselling process can feel stressful, so don't wait until the last date — complete your registration on time and keep your documents ready.

Registration Starts Today

Today's process is mainly meant for NEET UG 2026-qualified candidates who haven't registered for MP state counselling yet. If that's you, you'll need to register on the official portal — dme.mponline.gov.in — between September 28 and October 2.

If you're already registered, good news — you don't need to register again. This will come as a relief for Round 1 and Round 2 participants. There is one condition that applies to some of you though, which we've explained further down.

The last date for fresh registration is October 2, 2026, till 11:59 PM. This is the first deadline coming up, so take it seriously.

Full Schedule for the Mop-Up Round

As per the schedule released by DME on September 21, here's the full timeline:

  • Fresh Registration: September 28 to October 2, 2026, up to 11:59 PM
  • Revised State Merit List and Eligible Candidates List: October 3, 2026
  • Mop-Up Vacancy Publication: October 3, 2026
  • Fresh Choice Filling and Locking: October 4 to 7, 2026, up to 11:59 PM
  • Mop-Up Round Allotment Result: October 10, 2026
  • Physical Reporting and Admission: October 11 to 14, 2026, up to 6:00 PM

In short, the order goes like this: Registration, then Merit List and Vacancy, then Choice Filling, then Allotment, and finally Reporting.

You Have to Fill Fresh Choices

This is probably the most important rule to remember. Everyone who wants to take part in the Mop-Up Round needs to fill fresh choices between October 4 and 7.

Your old choices from Round 1 or Round 2 won't carry over automatically. Even if you're already registered, you'll need to submit fresh preferences for college, course, and seat type during this window. Allotment will be based on your merit, seat vacancy, your fresh choices, and reservation rules.

Before locking your choices, take some time to check each college's fee structure, bond conditions, and seat type carefully — this matters even more if you're considering private colleges.

What Happens After Allotment

The Mop-Up Round allotment result comes out on October 10. If you get a seat, you'll need to report in person to your allotted medical or dental college between October 11 and 14, by 6 PM on the last day.

At the time of reporting, document verification and admission formalities will be completed. Make sure you carry your NEET scorecard, admit card, Class 10 and 12 marksheets, domicile certificate, category certificate and other relevant documents in original, along with your allotment letter.

A Note for Round 2 Candidates

If you've already taken admission in Round 2, be careful here. DME opened a resignation window from September 22 to October 1, till 6 PM, though resigning comes with a penalty. If you resign, you may become ineligible for further state rounds. So don't confuse resignation with Mop-Up participation or upgradation — always check the official notice before making a decision.
