Bengaluru, October 3, 2026: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has put up new seat updates for medical, dental and AYUSH aspirants on its UGNEET 2026 portal. The AYUSH additional seat matrix is dated October 2. The Medical and Dental Round 3 vacant-seat documents are dated October 1.

For MBBS and BDS candidates, the wait is now for the allotment result, because Round 3 option entry closed on October 2 at 10 AM. No result date has been confirmed so far.

What Are the Latest Seat Updates?

Please do not mix up these three documents:

  • October 2: UGAYUSH 2026 Additional Seat Matrix

  • October 1: Medical course Third Round vacant seats

  • October 1: Dental course Third Round vacant seats

The AYUSH update is separate from medical and dental counselling. It is not a new MBBS or BDS vacancy announcement.

AYUSH Matrix Does Not Mean Option Entry Has Started

The additional matrix gives more seat details for AYUSH applicants. If you want BAMS, BHMS or BUMS admission, check the college, course, category and quota details in it.

But uploading a seat matrix does not mean option entry has opened. A separate AYUSH counselling or option-entry schedule has not been confirmed in the available update. Wait for clear KEA instructions before you assume that choice filling has begun.

Medical and Dental Option Entry Is Closed

The original Round 3 option-entry window ran from September 25 to 29. It was then extended because of a bank strike. The final deadlines were:

  • Caution deposit: October 1

  • Option entry: October 2, up to 10 AM

As of October 3, candidates cannot submit fresh options in this closed window. It can open again only if KEA issues a separate notification.

Also remember that fresh options were required for Round 3. Choices from earlier rounds were not carried forward automatically.

Do Not Use Older Vacancy Numbers

Some reports on the September 25 provisional list mentioned 552 MBBS seats and 423 BDS seats, a total of 975. These numbers belong to the earlier list. Please do not treat them as the October 1 vacancy totals.

This article does not give the revised totals. For the latest college-wise and category-wise seats, check the newer medical and dental PDFs on the KEA portal.

What Should Candidates Do Next?

If you have completed option entry:

  • Keep your saved option-entry details and admission documents ready.

  • Keep checking the official portal for the allotment result and the next instructions.

  • Read the rules for an upgrade before you go ahead with admission.

If you are already admitted and are allowed to seek an upgrade, note that a new Round 3 allotment cancels your previous seat. You must join the new seat and cannot keep the old one.

Also keep in mind that the MCC All India Quota result is separate from the KEA state counselling result. For the next announcement, rely on the official KEA UGNEET 2026 portal and not on an unconfirmed result date.
