Haryana’s NEET UG 2026 counselling for MBBS and BDS admissions has entered the Stray Vacancy Round, the final stage of the state process. The Department of Medical Education and Research, Haryana, and Pt B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHSR), Rohtak, released a tentative vacant-seat matrix on 19 October 2026 through the official counselling portal, uhsrugcounselling.com. Registration and choice filling closed at 11.59 pm on the same day.

The matrix lists 106 potential vacancies across government, government-aided and private medical and dental colleges, including SGT University, MMU and Al-Falah. Seats are spread across Management, NRI and Open quotas, alongside reserved categories such as SC, BC-A and BC-B. As the matrix is tentative, candidates should not assume that every listed seat will remain available at allotment; final availability will be reflected in the official allocation. The vacancy distribution is college- and category-specific, so applicants should check the relevant entries rather than rely only on the overall total.

Court matters that may affect seat status

Two court-related matters may affect the status of seats and deserve close attention:

  • Maanvi v Union of India (CWP No. 32799 of 2026): Following the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s order dated 5 October 2026, one Open-PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) seat has been kept on hold. It will not be filled until further directions or a final decision.

  • CWP No. 30532 of 2025: The case concerns a proposal to increase seats at an institution from 150 to 200. As noted in the notification, an interim order permits admission against 50 additional seats. Their status remains subject to the court’s final outcome.

Candidates offered a court-linked seat should read the conditions carefully and check with the counselling authorities whether an undertaking is required at the time of joining. Such admission should not be treated as unconditional.

Haryana NEET UG 2026: Important dates

With choice filling closed, the next steps are time-sensitive:

  • 21 October: Provisional seat allotment is scheduled. Grievances may be submitted on the same day within the notified window.

  • 21–23 October: Pay the provisional fee online through the counselling portal.

  • 24 October: Attend document verification at the designated nodal centre or committee, carrying all original documents.

  • 26 October: Last date to report to and join the allotted college.

As the schedule is compact, candidates should follow the portal’s reporting instructions and complete every step within the specified window.

What candidates should do now

Shortlisted candidates can prepare in advance to avoid last-minute difficulties:

  • Check uhsrugcounselling.com regularly for the allotment list, grievance window, document instructions and schedule updates.

  • Pay the prescribed fee online by 23 October. Missing the deadline may lead to cancellation of the allotted seat under the counselling rules.

  • Keep the original NEET scorecard, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets or certificates, Haryana domicile proof, applicable caste or category certificates and any other requested records ready.

For court-linked seats, confirm the conditions and submit an undertaking only if directed.

With 106 potential vacancies, this round offers a significant remaining opportunity. However, allotment will depend on merit, choices, eligibility, quota rules and court orders. Candidates should treat 26 October as a critical deadline and monitor official notices. No further round should be assumed unless UHSR or the state department announces one.
