Jaipur, 19 October 2026: Rajasthan's NEET UG 2026 Stray Vacancy Round has 1,077 MBBS seats available under the state's 85% State Quota counselling process. The official vacancy matrix dated 17 October shows that 1,068 of these seats are in private medical colleges, and nine are linked to government institutions. The Times of India reported these figures on 18 October.

These vacancies give eligible candidates one more chance to get an MBBS seat. But the number of seats alone does not guarantee admission. Allotment depends on NEET merit, eligibility, category, seat type and the choices submitted by each candidate.

How the 1,077 MBBS Seats Are Distributed

The difference between government seats and government-linked seats is important. The matrix lists six seats in the Government Seat category. The other three are Management Seats in RUHS CMS and government-society/RAJMES institutions. Please do not assume that all nine seats have the fee structure of a regular government seat.

The overall distribution is:

  • Government Seats: 6

  • Management Seats in RUHS CMS and government-linked institutions: 3

  • Private colleges, General Seats: 758

  • Private colleges, Management Seats: 310

  • NRI Seats: 0

Private colleges account for about 99.2% of all MBBS vacancies. The private colleges with the most vacancies (General and Management Seats together) are:

  • Sudha Medical College, Kota: 157

  • JIET Medical College, Jodhpur: 151

  • Vyas Medical College, Jodhpur: 135

The category-wise matrix lists 289 OBC, 245 Unreserved, 227 SC, 97 ST, 87 EWS, 71 Scheduled Area and 61 MBC seats. Please check the exact college and seat type you are eligible for, because category totals alone do not show which seats are open to you.

Key Dates and Steps for Candidates

Fresh registration and application submission ended on 17 October. Do not assume that new registration is still open. Log in to your portal and confirm your registration status.

Important dates in the schedule:

  • Document verification: 18 to 20 October, 9 am to 4 pm, at the Academic Block, SMS Medical College, Jaipur

  • Security deposit: By 5 pm on 21 October

  • Fresh choice filling: 19 to 21 October (choices auto-lock at 11:45 pm on 21 October)

  • Provisional allotment result: 22 October

  • Tuition fee payment and reporting: By 26 October, as per the timings in the schedule

Stray round candidates must submit fresh choices, as preferences from earlier rounds do not carry forward. Choice filling is open only after the required document verification and bond formalities are done. Allotment is based on merit, not on a first-come, first-served basis.

Security Deposit for MBBS

The security deposit depends on the type of seat:

  • Government Seat: ₹50,000

  • Specified government-linked Management Seats: ₹2 lakh

  • Private college seat: ₹5 lakh

These amounts are security deposits, not tuition fees. Please check the amount that applies to your choices and read the bond conditions carefully, because not following them can have serious financial consequences.

BDS Vacancies and a Final Word of Caution

The same matrix lists 135 BDS vacancies. A footnote says that one seat at Maharaja Ganga Singh Dental College, Sri Ganganagar, is to remain vacant in line with a Rajasthan High Court order dated 16 October. Please read the official matrix and its notes before filling your choices.

Before you lock your preferences, think about your eligibility, NEET merit, seat category, college location, fees and whether you are ready to join. A large number of vacancies is an opportunity, but it is not a promise of allotment.
