The Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences University is also known as PIMS Loni. The medical college was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India on 29th September 2003 under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act 1956. The mother organization of this university is the Pravara Medical Trust. This trust was founded in 1972 in a small village called Loni in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra State in India. The trust was established by Dr VitthalraoVikhepatil.
The PIMS Loni offers various UG, PG and doctoral medical programs to the students. Admission to these programs is merit and entrance examination based.
