The Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences is a private medical college which was founded in the year 2005. The college is associated with Atal Medical & Research University/ Himachal Pradesh University (Govt.) of Himachal Pradesh and approved by the Dental Council of India and the Government of India.

HIDS Paonta Sahib has an annual intake of 100 seats in BDS and 29 seats in various streams of Postgraduate Dental Sciences. The college has a large open space and a 10-acre campus.

HIDS is situated in the tranquil town of Poanta Sahib, which is ideal for education. This institute is located 40 kilometres away from Dehradun in Uttarakhand and 100 kilometres away from Chandigarh.

HIDS Paonta Sahib has separate hostels for boys and girls. These hostels can accommodate 400+ female students and 150+ male students. These hostels offer single, double, and triple-sharing rooms to students. There is a wide football field, as well as basketball and badminton courts. Gym facilities are accessible separately for males and girls. The HIDS Paonta Sahib campus is completely WiFi-equipped.

The Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences features 250+ dental chairs in undergraduate and postgraduate clinics, as well as 220+ outpatients who report to the dental college. Departments are completely equipped with both indigenous and imported dental chairs, X-ray machines, OPG, RVG machines, and other equipment.
