Basaveshwara Medical College (BMCH), Chitradurga was established in the year 2001-2002. The college was started by Sri Jagadguru Murugharajendra Vidyapeetha (SJM Vidyapeetha). BMCH is recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The college offers undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate(MD, MS) courses in various areas. BMCH is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.
