The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) lists AIAMH as having Extended Permission for an intake of 100 BAMS seats in the 2025–26 session.

This record covers only that session. On its own, it does not confirm permission or seat numbers for 2026–27. Before you finalise your choices, compare the latest NCISM permission with the official counselling seat matrix.

Affiliation needs the same care. The institute’s website mentions a 2025–26 affiliation letter from Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University (MGGAU). An older college page mentions Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith. Ask to see the affiliation letter for your admission year instead of relying on an older webpage.

The only undergraduate programme documented for AIAMH is BAMS. The course usually takes five years and six months, including a compulsory rotatory internship. You study Ayurvedic principles along with subjects such as anatomy, physiology, diagnosis, pharmacology and clinical care. The cited 2025–26 NCISM record lists no postgraduate seats for this college, so do not assume that MD/MS Ayurveda is available here.

Applicants usually need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English. You must qualify NEET-UG and meet the minimum age, which is generally 17 years by 31 December of the admission year. Always follow that year’s official eligibility bulletin.

The admission process usually works like this:

• Qualify NEET-UG and register for UP AYUSH counselling.

• Check the seat matrix and fill in your college choices.

• Follow the allotment results. If you are selected, complete document verification and pay the fee on time.

 For any All India Quota seats, check AACCC notices separately. Keep your marksheets, NEET scorecard, identity proof, photographs and any category or domicile certificates ready. Qualifying in NEET does not guarantee a seat. Your rank, category, choices and seat availability also matter.

These records are a good starting point, but published patient numbers do not automatically mean hands-on learning for every student. When you visit the campus, ask:

• How often do students take part in ward rounds and case-taking?
• How many patients come in on an ordinary working day?
• Are clinical postings and internships supervised regularly?

Talking to current students can also give you a more realistic picture of faculty availability, class regularity and practical training.

After BAMS and the required professional registration, graduates can explore Ayurvedic practice, AYUSH roles, wellness services, research or pharmaceutical work. MD/MS Ayurveda and teaching are possible longer-term paths, but they need separate admissions and qualifications. They do not come automatically with the degree.

AIAMH is a worthwhile option if you are looking for BAMS near Varanasi. Before you accept a seat for 2026–27, verify NCISM permission and seats, current university affiliation, and the complete cost of study. Also visit the campus to check the clinical training and living facilities. Base your decision on current official documents, not on older approvals or promotional claims alone.
