The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has reached a crucial stage in NEET UG Medical & Dental Counselling 2026 (Round 2). As per the revised Round-2 schedule dated 03 September 2026, physical document verification for successfully registered candidates is scheduled on 8, 9 and 10 September 2026 (11:00 AM to 4:00 PM). With 10 September being the last scheduled day, candidates who are required to appear for verification must treat it as a key deadline.
WBMCC's UG Medical & Dental portal continues to display Round-2 registration and the updated schedule under the latest updates/notifications section, aligning with the revised timeline released earlier this month.
Round 2 schedule: Key dates candidates must track
- Based on the official revised schedule, round 2 activities include:
- Round-2 Registration: 7 Sept (1:00 PM) to 9 Sept (6:00 PM)
- Online Fee Payment: 7 Sept (1:00 PM) to 9 Sept (midnight)
- Physical Candidate Verification: 8, 9 & 10 Sept (11:00 AM–4:00 PM)
- Online Seat Surrender Window: 11 & 12 Sept (10:00 AM–3:00 PM)
- Verified Candidate List + Round-2 Seat Matrix: 12 Sept (after 4:00 PM)
- Choice Filling & Locking: 12 Sept (6:00 PM) to 14 Sept (10:00 AM)
- Round-2 Allotment Result: 15 Sept (after 6:00 PM)
- Reporting & Admission: 16, 17 & 18 Sept (10:00 AM–4:00 PM)
With the verification process concluding today, the next major milestone will be the publication of the verified candidates' list and the Round-2 seat matrix on 12 September (after 4 PM), followed shortly by the choice filling window opening at 6 PM the same day.
Who must attend physical verification?
The Round-2 physical verification applies to candidates who have successfully completed registration and applicable fee payment and have been instructed by the system to report for physical document verification at the designated venue/date/time. The verification step is a gatekeeping process—only after this stage will WBMCC publish the list of successfully verified candidates eligible to proceed further in Round 2.
Candidates who miss verification despite being required to attend may face issues in being considered for subsequent steps, including choice filling, depending on WBMCC's eligibility rules and the status shown in the verified list.
WBMCC "Urgent Notice" dated 09 September: Not a verification extension
A key point for candidates and parents is the interpretation of WBMCC's 09 September 2026 "Urgent Notice." While the timing created confusion for some, the notice is not about extending the Round-2 verification deadline.
Instead, it primarily addresses a separate issue: candidates who remained non-allotted up to Round 2 and could not submit the security deposit required for participating in Private Medical/Dental Colleges under State Quota and/or Management Quota.
Security deposit amounts mentioned
As per the urgent notice, the security deposit requirements referenced include:
- ₹2,00,000 for Private Medical/Dental College State Quota
- ₹5,00,000 for Management Quota
