The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has started the Round 3 process of NEET UG 2026 counselling for MBBS and BDS admissions. As per the revised schedule issued on September 17, candidates can fill and lock their choices from October 1 at 6 pm to October 4 at 10 am.

Before choosing, candidates must check the Successfully Verified Candidates List and the Round 3 seat matrix. Both are scheduled to be published after 5 pm on October 1. The seat matrix is important because the colleges and quota-wise seats available in Round 3 may be different from the earlier rounds.

The Round 3 registration window was open from September 28 to September 30. Physical document verification is scheduled for September 29, September 30 and October 1, between 11 am and 4 pm.

Who can take part in Round 3?

  • Candidates who were successfully verified but did not get a seat in Round 1 or Round 2 can take part in Round 3 by filling fresh choices.
  • Candidates who were verified but could not submit choices earlier can also take part, without paying the counselling fee again, as per the information bulletin.
  • Those who got a seat in Round 2 but did not report at the allotted college can take part again. However, they may have to pay the counselling fee and the applicable security deposit once more.
  • Candidates who joined a Round 2 seat and gave willingness for Round 3 can also take part.

On the other hand, candidates who surrendered their seat or did not give the required willingness may not be allowed to continue in the counselling process.

No upgradation in Round 3

One of the most important rules is that there is no choice upgradation in Round 3. So fill choices only for those colleges and courses where you are genuinely ready to take admission.

Do not accept a seat just hoping to move to a better college later. Once you get a Round 3 seat, you normally cannot take part in further counselling or surrender the seat during the counselling process.

Fees and private college deposits

The counselling fee is ₹2,000 for Unreserved candidates and ₹1,500 for SC, ST, OBC, PwD and EWS candidates. This fee is non-refundable.

Candidates choosing private colleges may also have to pay a security deposit of ₹2 lakh for State Quota seats and ₹5 lakh for Management Quota seats. Students and parents should check the complete fee structure carefully before selecting private colleges.

Allotment and reporting dates

The Round 3 allotment result is expected after 4 pm on October 8. Candidates who get a seat must report to their colleges on October 12, 13 or 14, between 10 am and 4 pm, with their original documents and the required admission fee.

Candidates who are still without a seat after Round 3 may get another chance through the Online Stray Vacancy Round. Registration for the stray round is scheduled for October 15 and 16.

Round 3 is an important stage for students and families. Careful choice filling, locking on time and a clear understanding of fees and eligibility can help you avoid costly mistakes.
