The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has released a revised tentative schedule, dated 17 September 2026, for the upcoming stages of WB NEET UG 2026 counselling. It covers MBBS and BDS admissions under the State Quota, Private Management Quota, and NRI Quota in West Bengal. The update is also live on WBMCC's official UG Medical & Dental Counselling page, listed under Latest News as 'Schedule Dated 17-09-2026 Published
The notice does mention an extra admission day for Round 2, but honestly, the bigger news for aspirants is that WBMCC has now published the full timeline for Round 3 and the Online Stray Vacancy Round — giving candidates a clear roadmap for the final stretch of seat allotment.
Round 3: Registration starts 28 September
As per the revised schedule (all timings in server time), Round 3 registration opens on 28 September (11 AM) and closes on 30 September (6 PM). One thing to note — fee payment stays open a little longer, until 30 September (midnight), so make sure you actually pay before the window shuts; filling the form alone won’t count as registering.
Round 3 key dates:
- Registration: Sept 28 (11 AM) to Sept 30 (6 PM)
- Fee payment: Sept 28 (11 AM) to Sept 30 (midnight)
- Document verification: Sept 29, Sept 30 & Oct 1 (11 AM–4 PM)
- Seat surrender window (college level): Sept 30 & Oct 1 (10 AM–3 PM)
- Verified list + seat matrix: Oct 1 (after 5 PM)
- Choice filling/locking: Oct 1 (6 PM) to Oct 4 (10 AM)
- Round 3 result: Oct 8 (after 4 PM)
- Reporting/admission: Oct 12–14 (10 AM–4 PM)
Who can apply for Round 3?
According to WBMCC’s counselling bulletin, round 3 is open for fresh registrations, and it also allows several categories of already-verified candidates to take part — this includes (1) new NEET-qualified candidates registering for the first time, (2) candidates who were verified earlier but hadn’t been allotted a seat through Round 2, and (3) verified candidates who hadn’t filled their choices yet. If you were allotted a seat in Round 2 but didn’t report, you may still get another shot — though you’ll likely need to pay the counselling fee and security deposit again, as per the rules.
One important rule to remember: Round 3 doesn’t offer any “choice upgradation.” Also, once you’re admitted through Round 3, you generally can’t participate in any later rounds.
Online Stray Vacancy Round: Registration opens 15 October
After Round 3 wraps up, WBMCC will run an Online Stray Vacancy Round, and this too requires fresh registration.
Stray Vacancy key dates:
- Registration: Oct 15 (11 AM) to Oct 16 (6 PM)
- Fee payment: Oct 15 (11 AM) to Oct 16 (midnight)
- Verification: Oct 16 & 17 (11 AM–4 PM)
- Seat matrix: Oct 17 (after 5 PM)
- Choice filling/locking: Oct 17 (6 PM) to Oct 18 (10 AM)
- Result: Oct 23 (by 12 noon)
- Reporting/admission: Oct 23 (2–6 PM), Oct 24 & 26 (10 AM–4 PM)
