The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has published important portal timelines for candidates seeking Persons with Disabilities (PwD/PwBD) reservation benefits during NEET PG Counselling 2026. According to the latest information displayed on MCC’s PG Medical Counselling page, the Primary Assessment Board portal will remain available until 2 November 2026, 6 pm.
Meanwhile, the Appellate Board portal will operate from 29 October to 5 November 2026, closing at 6 pm on the final day.
The update is particularly significant for candidates who either require an initial disability assessment or wish to seek a review of the Primary Board’s decision. Candidates should carefully identify the procedure applicable to them, because the two portals serve distinct purposes.
Revised PwD Portal Schedule
The latest dates listed by MCC are:
-
Primary Assessment Board portal: Up to 2 November 2026, 6 pm
-
Appellate Board portal: 29 October to 5 November 2026, closing promptly at 6 pm
These dates are later than the schedule mentioned in MCC’s 28 September notice. Notably, the latest-news entry furnishes no rationale for the revision of the timelines. Candidates should, therefore, refrain from relying on speculation and follow only official MCC notifications.
Portal availability should also not be mistaken for a confirmed physical-assessment appointment. The date, time and venue may be communicated separately by the concerned board or its nodal officer.
Who Can Claim PwBD Reservation?
PwD stands for Persons with Disabilities, whereas PwBD signifies Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. Under the applicable guidelines, a candidate ordinarily requires at least 40 per cent benchmark disability to be considered for PwBD reservation.
The key eligibility requirements include:
-
A valid Unique Disability ID (UDID) card
-
Assessment by an MCC-designated Medical Assessment Board
-
Evaluation of course-related functional competencies
-
Consideration of reasonable accommodation and patient safety
-
An Eligibility Certificate for the current academic session
A UDID card, or a certificate issued by an unauthorised hospital, does not automatically establish eligibility for the PwBD counselling benefit. The prescribed board must assess the candidate and issue the required certificate.
Documents Required for Primary Assessment
Candidates should keep the following documents ready:
-
NEET PG 2026 scorecard
-
Valid UDID card
-
Self-certified affidavit in Schedule-I
-
Self-certification affidavit under Appendix-A
-
Applicable disability-specific affidavit from Appendix-B to F
The disability-specific affidavit must be consistent with the candidate’s declared category. Any inaccurate or fabricated information may lead to the revocation of admission and potential legal proceedings.
How Does the Appeal Process Work?
Candidates dissatisfied with the Primary Board’s finding may approach the Appellate Board under the prescribed process. The appeal ought to specify the preferred appellate centre, along with the relevant supporting particulars. The Information Bulletin lists the email addresses disabilityappeal-chair@gov.in and disabilityappeal-convener@gov.in; however, candidates must check the portal for the latest submission instructions.
The five designated appellate centres are situated in:
-
New Delhi
-
Mumbai
-
Varanasi
-
Chennai
-
Kolkata
