Kolkata: The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has uploaded two key Round 3 updates for West Bengal UG Medical & Dental Counselling 2026 on its official portal. These are a revised provisional list of candidates eligible for Round 3 and the Round 3 seat matrix.

One correction for October 5, 2026, though. The homepage still shows “Round 3 Choice Filling Started” with a “New” tag, but the official schedule says choice filling and locking closed on October 4 at 10:00 AM. So it would be wrong to say that choice filling is open right now.

What WBMCC has released (latest Round 3 updates)

Two documents are available on the WBMCC UG Medical & Dental counselling page:

  • Revised Provisional List of Candidates Eligible for Choice Filling in Round 3 (marked “As on: 03-10-2026”)
  • Seat Matrix for Round 3 (seats listed institute-wise and quota-wise)

Together they show who was eligible to enter options in Round 3 and how many seats were available in MBBS and BDS before allotment.

Revised eligible candidate list: 8,115 names

The revised provisional eligibility PDF has these details for each candidate:

  • Serial number
  • NEET All India Rank (AIR)
  • Candidate name
  • Category and PwD status
  • Candidate type (for example, State Quota or Private Management Only)

Going by the last serial number, the revised list has 8,115 candidates. Do check your candidate type as well, not just your rank, because it affects which choices and quota routes are open to you.

Round 3 seat matrix: 711 vacant MBBS/BDS seats

The WBMCC Round 3 seat matrix (dated October 1) shows 711 seats across medical and dental courses. From the row-wise totals:

  • MBBS: 632 seats
  • BDS: 79 seats
  • Total: 711 seats

Quota-wise breakup (from the matrix)

Most of the vacancies are in the private quotas:

  • State Quota: 300 seats
  • Private Management Quota: 387 seats
  • NRI Quota: 24 seats
  • Total: 711 seats

That makes the Private Management Quota (387 seats) the biggest share of the Round 3 vacancy pool.

Important for Oct 5: choice filling is closed

The homepage label can be confusing. The official schedule dated September 17 says:

  • Choice filling & locking: Oct 1 (6:00 PM) to Oct 4 (10:00 AM)

So on Oct 5, candidates should not assume that option entry is live, unless WBMCC issues a separate extension notice.

What happens next: result and reporting dates

As per the published Round 3 schedule:

  • Round 3 allotment result: October 8, 2026 (after 4:00 PM)
  • Reporting & admission: October 12, 13 and 14 (10:00 AM to 4:00 PM)

At the time of reporting, candidates will need original documents, the applicable fees and bond/undertakings (as required). If you are upgraded to a new institute, you may also need a server-generated relieving letter from your previous college before joining the new one.

Key takeaways at a glance

  • Eligible candidates (revised list): 8,115 (as on Oct 3)
  • Vacant seats in the Round 3 matrix: 711 (632 MBBS + 79 BDS)
  • Choice filling status on Oct 5: Closed (as per schedule)
  • Allotment result date: Oct 8 (after 4 PM)
  • Reporting window: Oct 12–14 (10 AM–4 PM)

Follow only the dated notices and PDFs on the official WBMCC portal, and don’t rely on the homepage “New” tags alone.
