MBBS aspirants still hoping to secure a seat have another counselling window. According to the MCC schedule dated 30 October 2026 provided for this report, the Medical Counselling Committee has scheduled a Special Stray Vacancy Round to fill seats left vacant after earlier rounds. Registration opens on 2 November, and the allotment result is scheduled for 7 November.

The same schedule covers the fifth round for BDS and B.Sc Nursing, followed by a separate sixth round for those two courses.

MBBS Special Stray Round: Key dates

  • Registration: 2 November, 10 am, to 4 November, 3 pm

  • Fee payment: Until 4 November, 6 pm

  • Choice filling: 2 November to 5 November, 11 am

  • Choice locking: 4 November, 4 pm, to 5 November, 11 am

  • Allotment processing: 5–6 November

  • Result: 7 November

  • College reporting: 7–16 November, ending at 5 pm on 16 November

All timings follow the MCC server clock. Registration closes three hours before the payment window, so candidates should not leave either step until the last moment. They should also confirm that their payment was successful and review their college preferences carefully before locking choices.

Check eligibility and vacant seats separately

The two-page schedule provides dates, but it does not give a college-wise MBBS vacancy count or detailed eligibility rules for this additional round. Candidates should consult the separate seat matrix and any Special Stray instructions issued by MCC.

MCC’s general stray-round guidelines include restrictions affecting candidates who already hold a joined seat or failed to report after a Round 3 allotment. A state counselling allotment may also affect participation. However, candidates should not assume that every general rule applies unchanged to this special round. The instructions on the official portal and their candidate login should guide their decision.

BDS and B.Sc Nursing: Fifth and sixth rounds

The fifth round for BDS and B.Sc Nursing follows the MBBS Special Stray timetable, with a result scheduled for 7 November and reporting until 16 November.

A later sixth round applies only to BDS and B.Sc Nursing—not MBBS. Its registration period is listed as 17–19 November. Choice locking runs from 18 November, 4 pm, to 19 November, 9 am. The result is scheduled for 20 November, followed by college reporting from 21 to 28 November.

There is one important inconsistency: although the sixth-round registration period is shown as 17–19 November, the same schedule gives 18 November, 3 pm, as the registration cut-off. Until MCC clarifies this, treating the earlier deadline as the safer option would be prudent. Fee payment being available until 19 November, 6 pm, does not necessarily mean registration remains open until then.

Before choosing a college

Check tuition fees, hostel costs, bond conditions and admission requirements before ranking institutions. Keep original NEET documents, academic records, photo ID, photographs, applicable category certificates and the allotment letter ready for reporting.
