Round 2: Candidates vs Seats (a quick look at the competition)

Round 2 saw a lot of competition for a limited number of seats. Based on the merit list released on September 21, a total of 33,043 candidates were eligible for choice filling.

Meanwhile, the Round 2 tentative seat matrix listed 3,656 MBBS/BDS seats across 116 institutions. Here’s the course-wise breakup:

  • MBBS: 3,108 seats (370 government + 2,738 private)
  • BDS: 548 seats (26 government + 522 private)
  • Total: 3,656 seats (396 government + 3,260 private)

Since this matrix was marked “tentative,” there’s a chance of small changes in the final seat position by the time allotment happens.

How to check your UP-NEET Round 2 allotment result

You can check your result through the UPNEET candidate login on the official portal. Keep your login credentials handy — the same ones you used during counselling. Once you’re logged in, you’ll be able to see:

  • Your allotted college/institute
  • Your course (MBBS/BDS)
  • Your allotment status and other related details

After checking your result, make sure to download and save the Round 2 allotment letter — you’ll need it during reporting.

If you’ve been allotted a seat, you’ll need to complete admission/reporting at your allotted institute between September 26 and October 1, 2026 (as per the revised schedule).
