Lucknow: Candidates who got MBBS/BDS seats in UP NEET-UG Counselling 2026 (State Quota) Round 2 must complete their admission/reporting today, 1 October 2026, as per the revised schedule on the official UP NEET portal (DGME-UP). The Round 2 seat allotment result was declared on 25 September 2026, and the admission window runs from 26 September to 1 October 2026.
Officials and counselling instructions have repeatedly said that downloading the allotment letter is not enough. Candidates must complete the full admission process within the deadline. This includes physically reporting at the designated location, getting documents verified and paying the applicable fees.
Where to report: government vs private seats
As per the Round 2 instructions:
- Government college allotment: Report to the concerned Medical/Dental College/Institute/University for admission formalities.
- Private college allotment: Report at the concerned Board Centre (not only the college campus), as mentioned in your allotment/admission instructions.
Since the reporting place can differ by type of allotment, re-check your allotment letter and the latest instructions on upneet.gov.in before you travel.
Key warning: Round 2 is not a "free exit"
One of the most important rules of Round 2 is that admission is mandatory for allotted candidates. If a candidate does not take admission after Round 2 allotment, the counselling instructions say:
- The entire security deposit may be forfeited, and
- To take part in Round 3, the candidate may have to deposit the security amount again.
This is very different from the Round 1 "free exit" idea that many students carry forward. In Round 2, skipping admission can be costly.
Security deposit amounts (as reported for UP NEET UG 2026)
-
Government Medical/Dental: ₹30,000
-
Private Medical (MBBS): ₹2,00,000
-
Private Dental (BDS): ₹1,00,000
