Lucknow, 8 October 2026: If you are following Uttar Pradesh's third counselling round, first check which course a deadline belongs to. UP NEET UG is for MBBS and BDS admissions, while UP NEET MDS is for postgraduate dental admissions. Both run through upneet.gov.in, but each course has its own counselling notices, so follow only the one that applies to you.

MDS Round 3: What Has Been Reported

According to media reports based on the DGME timetable, MDS registration started on 6 October 2026 and closes on 8 October at 11 am. The merit list is also expected on 8 October, but we could not independently confirm that it has been published.

Here is the reported schedule:

  • Fresh registration deadline: 8 October, 11 am
  • Registration fee and security payment: 8 October, 2 pm
  • Merit list: expected on 8 October
  • Choice filling and locking: from 8 October, 5 pm, to 12 October, 11 am
  • Seat allotment result: 12 October
  • Allotment letter download and admission: 13 to 17 October

All dates are in October 2026.

One thing to keep in mind: the 2 pm payment deadline is not extra time to register. Fresh registration still closes at 11 am.

UG Candidates: Check Your Own Dates

Reports about UP NEET UG Round 3 do not agree with each other. One says the registration deadline is 7 October 2026, while another says 8 October 2026 at 11 am. Because of this, neither date should be treated as the confirmed schedule.

The version of the official portal we could search lists MDS Round 3 notices, but we could not reliably verify a live UG Round 3 timetable. So if you are applying for MBBS or BDS, look for the latest notice meant specifically for UG, and do not follow the MDS calendar.

A Merit List Is Not an Admission

The state merit list and the seat allotment result are two different things. When the merit list for your course is released, check that you are looking at the right course and counselling round, and that your own details are correct.

Being in the merit list does not mean your admission is confirmed. Choice filling, seat allotment and reporting at the college are separate steps that come after it.

Fees and Documents: Read the Right Guidelines

The published UG guidance lists a ₹2,000 non-refundable registration fee. The security deposits are:

  • Government medical or dental seats: ₹30,000
  • Private MBBS seats: ₹2 lakh
  • Private BDS seats: ₹1 lakh

These deposits are separate from tuition fees.

UG applicants should keep these ready: Class 10 and 12 records, domicile and reservation certificates (if applicable) and payment receipts. MDS applicants should check their own document list and payment requirements, and should not assume that UG rules apply to them.

What You Should Do Next

  • Open the correct UG or MDS section on the official portal.
  • Check your registration, payment and verification status.
  • Go through the seat matrix and the college fee notices.
  • Arrange your college preferences carefully and complete choice locking.
  • Save your confirmation records, and after allotment, follow the reporting instructions given to you.

If you are thinking of a private college, compare its tuition, hostel charges and other fees with your family's budget before you choose.

If you registered earlier, check your individual eligibility before taking part again. The portal lists counselling brochures and fee orders. Reading the latest documents for your own course is safer than relying on conflicting reports or forwarded messages.
