Jaipur: Round 3 counselling for MBBS and BDS admissions is currently on, run by the Rajasthan NEET UG Medical & Dental Admission/Counselling Board (SMS Medical College, Jaipur). One important update as of October 5, 2026: fresh registration for Round 3 has already closed (the scheduled deadline was October 3). What is going on now is mainly fresh choice filling, security deposit submission and upgradation for joined candidates on the official portal, ug.neetrajasthan.com.

The website may still show an old banner saying “Registration for Round-3 is live”. Please go by the official schedule and notices, not by the banner alone.

What is open right now (as on Oct 5)

  • Fresh choice filling: open till October 7, 2026
  • Security deposit window: open till October 7, 2026 (5:00 PM)
  • Auto-locking of choices: October 7, 2026 (11:45 PM)

The biggest deadline this week: October 7

There are two different cut-offs on October 7, so keep track of both:

  • Security Deposit Deadline: 5:00 PM
  • Choice Filling + Auto-Locking: 11:45 PM

Missing either one can affect whether you are considered in Round 3.

Merit list and vacant seat matrix published on October 4

On October 4, 2026, the counselling board uploaded two important Round 3 documents:

  • Updated vacant seat matrix (after the resignations on Oct 2–3)
  • Provisional State Merit List (Round 3), before verification

Seat availability changed after the resignation window, so look at the latest vacancy matrix before you lock your preferences.

Fresh choice filling is compulsory (old choices will not carry forward)

A major Round 3 rule: the choices you filled in Round 1 and Round 2 will not be carried forward. This means:

  • Registration alone does not guarantee that you will be considered.
  • You must fill and save/submit fresh choices for Round 3.
  • If you do not submit choices, you may not be considered for allotment or upgradation.

Round 3 upgradation for joined candidates: how it works

If your status is “Joined” after Round 2, you can still take part in Round 3 to try for an upgrade. You need to fill fresh choices for this.

Two things to know if you are a joined candidate:

  • The system will usually keep your already joined college as the last, default “safety” choice.
  • You can list the colleges you prefer above it for upgradation.

If none of your higher preferences is allotted in Round 3, your existing joined seat stays safe and is retained.

MCC AIQ Round 3 resignation window: now closed

The board had opened a special resignation window on October 2 and 3 (10 AM to 5 PM). It was for candidates who got a seat in MCC AIQ Round 3 and needed to resign from a Rajasthan Round 2 joined seat. The window is now over. Such resignations involved forfeiture of the security deposit as per the conditions.

Security deposit (Round 3): amounts and timing

You can submit the security deposit till October 7 (5 PM). Common deposit amounts are:

  • Govt MBBS: ₹50,000
  • Management MBBS (Govt Society/RUHS CMS): ₹2,00,000
  • NRI MBBS / Private MBBS: ₹5,00,000
  • BDS (as applicable): ₹10,000

Deposit rules can differ in forfeiture and upgrade situations.
