BHOPAL: Undergraduate medical and dental admissions in Madhya Pradesh have entered their decisive final lap. The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh, is at present overseeing the Stray Vacancy Round of the MP State Combined NEET UG Counselling 2026.
With the college reporting window closing today, October 24, prospective candidates can track real-time attendance and institute-wise seat status directly on the official portal (dme.mponline.gov.in) before final admissions commence tomorrow.
Crucial Schedule and the Physical Reporting Mandate
Following choice filling on October 21–22, eligible aspirants have been reporting to colleges to enter the final merit pool. Candidates must adhere strictly to the stipulated schedule:
-
Online Attendance and Reporting: October 23-24, 2026 (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
-
Final Merit-Based Admission: October 25, 2026 (10:00 AM to 6:00 PM)
To avoid last-minute hiccups, aspirants must note a vital procedural rule: marking “Online Attendance” is not a home-based login activity. Candidates must report physically to their chosen college, where an appointed government nodal officer records their attendance online. Moreover, attendance is permitted at only one institute.
Seat Matrix Dissection: 62 Vacancies Available for Allocation
As per DME’s official vacancy list published on October 21, 2026, 62 seats across 25 institutions were earmarked for this round. Because live figures change during active counselling, candidates should check the portal’s dynamic report for current status. The October 21 list comprises:
-
MBBS Seats (38): Seven seats fall under government medical colleges—two at Khandwa, and one each at Gandhi Medical College (Bhopal), Rewa, Satna, Mandsaur, and Singrauli. Private colleges hold 31 seats, with Mansarovar Medical College, Sehore, accounting for the highest at 16.
-
BDS Seats (24): One government seat is available at the Government Autonomous College of Dentistry, Indore, alongside 23 seats across eight private dental colleges, led by Index Institute of Dental Sciences, Indore, with seven vacancies.
Deciphering the Real-Time Portal Snapshot and Merit Stipulations
To ensure transparency, DME offers Dynamic (Real-Time) and Institute-Wise tracking reports. At the time of portal verification on October 24, the snapshot displayed 13,876 choice-filling counts (13,345 domicile and 531 non-domicile) and 79 recorded attendances. Crucially, choice-filling figures reflect total preferences logged, not unique applicants. Likewise, the zero admission count simply reflects that formal admissions take place tomorrow, October 25, rather than any technical delay.
Under Stray Round norms, the real-time merit list displays candidates up to ten times the available vacancies per institute. Therefore, marking attendance merely confirms participation and does not guarantee final seat allotment, which strictly depends on inter-se merit during tomorrow’s admission window.
Essential Advisory for Aspirants
-
Verify Eligibility: Confirm your status on the official eligible list and read DME’s latest Student Advisory carefully.
-
Carry Original Documents: Keep your NEET UG 2026 scorecard, admit card, Class 10 and 12 certificates, ID proof, domicile/category papers, and verified fee details ready.
-
Distinguish Counselling Portals: Do not confuse this MP State quota round with the separate All India Quota (AIQ) counselling run by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
