Bhopal, October 2, 2026: The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh has opened the Mop-Up Round of MP State Combined NEET UG Counselling 2026-27 (MBBS and BDS). As per the official Mop-Up time schedule issued on September 21, 2026, the fresh registration window closes tonight, October 2, 2026, at 11:59 PM. If you still want to enter MP state counselling at the Mop-Up stage, register well before the deadline so that last-minute technical problems don't stop you.
Who needs to act today?
The DME schedule makes one thing clear: not everyone has to register again.
1) Candidates who did NOT register earlier (fresh candidates):
If you are NEET UG 2026 qualified and eligible but did not register in the earlier MP counselling rounds, today is your last day to complete fresh registration for the Mop-Up Round (deadline: 11:59 PM).
2) Candidates who are already registered in MP counselling:
If you have already registered in MP NEET UG counselling, you don't need to register again. But don't assume you will be considered for allotment automatically. The Mop-Up Round needs fresh choice filling and locking within the announced dates.
Remember, registration and choice filling are two separate steps. Many candidates lose out because they finish one and forget the other.
What happens after the registration deadline?
As per the official schedule, the next big updates are expected on October 3, 2026, when DME will publish:
- Revised State Merit List / Eligible Candidates List
- Mop-Up vacancy position
Both are important. Your Mop-Up choices should be based on the latest vacancy list, not the older Round 1 or Round 2 availability. Check (a) whether your name is in the revised eligible list and (b) which colleges/seats are available, and only then finalise your preferences.
Choice filling dates: mark this window
DME has scheduled fresh choice filling and choice locking from October 4 to October 7, 2026 (up to 11:59 PM). This step applies to everyone who wants to take part in Mop-Up, whether they are fresh registrants or already registered.
Many candidates wrongly think their old choices will carry forward. The schedule clearly says fresh choice filling is needed for Mop-Up, so plan your preferences and lock them before the deadline.
Result and admission timeline
After choice locking, DME has announced these dates:
- Mop-Up seat allotment result: October 10, 2026
- Physical reporting, document verification and admission: October 11 to October 14, 2026 (up to 6:00 PM)
If you get a seat, report early within the window and carry the original documents required by the allotted medical/dental college.
Important warning: seat-leaving bond
The official Mop-Up schedule also has a clear caution: if a candidate resigns after the Mop-Up Round begins, seat-leaving bond provisions may apply under the relevant rules. So think through your options and eligibility before you take part in Mop-Up.
Also note that the earlier Round 2 resignation/upgradation windows mentioned in counselling updates ended on October 1. Don't mix those dates up with the current Mop-Up registration deadline.
