The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh has uploaded several Mop-Up Round documents for MP NEET UG 2026 MBBS/BDS counselling on its official portal. The process is now at its most time-sensitive step: fresh choice filling and locking.

As per the official schedule and portal notices, you must complete fresh choice filling + locking by 7 October 2026 (11:59 PM). Time is short, so first check whether you are eligible, and then finalise your preferences strictly from the Final Vacancy document released on 3 October 2026.

What do you need to do on Oct 6?

If you plan to take part in Mop-Up:

  • Fill your choices again from scratch (do not depend on your Round-1/2 choices)
  • Lock your choices before Oct 7, 11:59 PM
  • Make sure the security amount conditions are met as per the 1 October advisory

DME's Oct 3 updates: What each PDF actually means

The DME portal has listed separate documents, and each one has a different purpose:

  • Revised State Merit List (after fresh registration, before Mop-Up):
  • This is a revised merit list made after the fresh registration window. It may include candidates who are on the merit list but still not eligible for Mop-Up allotment.
  • List of Eligible Candidates for Mop-Up Round:
  • This is the most important list to check before filling choices. If your name/roll number is not in the eligible list, you may not be considered for allotment, even if you appear in the revised merit list.
  • Final Vacancies in Government/Private MBBS/BDS for Mop-Up:
  • This is the working vacancy list for filling preferences. Reported summaries based on the vacancy PDF suggest about 1,132 seats (approx. 440 government and 692 private). However, you should rely on the college-wise/category-wise details in the official PDF.
  • Round-2 "Satisfied Candidates" list:
  • This shows candidates who did not opt for an upgrade. It is not a vacancy list.
  • Round-2 Upgrade (Virtual Vacancy) list:
  • This shows candidates who opted for an upgrade. These are possible vacancies that may open up if upgrades happen. They are different from "final vacant seats".

Mop-Up schedule: key dates to remember

As per the official timeline on the portal:

  • Choice Filling & Locking: 4-7 Oct 2026 (till 11:59 PM)
  • Mop-Up Allotment Result: 10 Oct 2026
  • Reporting & Admission: 11-14 Oct 2026 (up to 6:00 PM on Oct 14)

Security deposit advisory (Oct 1): why it matters

DME's advisory for candidates says that Mop-Up participants must deposit the security amount before taking part:

  • Non-NRI candidates: ₹2,00,000
  • NRI candidates: ₹10,00,000

The advisory also warns that if you get a Mop-Up allotment but do not take admission, your security deposit can be forfeited, and you may become ineligible for further counselling.

Quick checklist for you

  • Check your name in the Eligible Candidates List (not just the merit list)
  • Download and study the Final Vacancy PDF
  • Fill only those options you are truly ready to join
  • Lock your choices well before the deadline and save the confirmation/receipt
  • Keep an eye on the Oct 10 result and be ready for Oct 11-14 reporting
