New Delhi, October 1, 2026: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the provisional seat allotment result for Round 3 of NEET UG Counselling 2026. The result was shared through Notice No. 25 on September 30 and covers MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing seats.

Candidates who wanted to point out a mistake had time till 10 am on October 1. They had to do this through the “Candidates Grievances and Query Redressal System” on the Candidate Login Portal. That window is now closed.

Final Result Is Not Out Yet

As per the October 1 afternoon update, MCC’s UG Current Events page did not show a separate final result for Round 3.

MCC’s notice clearly says that the provisional result is only indicative and can change. Having your name on it does not give you the right to claim the seat. So, students should go to their allotted college only after the final result is declared.

4,687 Fresh Allotments and 5,169 Upgrades

According to NDTV’s report on the provisional list, Round 3 saw 4,687 fresh seat allotments and 5,169 upgrades. Added together, that makes 9,856. Note that this is the number of fresh allotments and upgrades, not the total number of candidates listed in the PDF.

The two are not the same thing. An upgrade means a candidate who already held a seat from an earlier round has been moved to an option they preferred more.

How to Check Your Allotment

Open the provisional PDF from MCC’s UG Current Events page and search for your NEET rank. Look carefully at the institute, course, allotted quota, category and the Round 3 remarks. If your status says “Upgraded” or “Retained”, compare it with your earlier-round details as well.

Reporting Dates and Admission Rules

The published reporting period is October 1–9. Even so, MCC’s advice to wait for the final result still holds. The provisional list alone is not enough to start reporting.

As per MCC’s Information Bulletin, candidates cannot resign from a seat allotted in Round 3. If a candidate does not join, they can lose their security deposit and may not be allowed to take part in further rounds. Freshly allotted and upgraded candidates must report in person after the final allotment.

Upgraded candidates should also finish the required relieving formalities at their previous institute before completing admission at the newly allotted college.

183 Seats Added to the Pool

Separately, MCC has added 183 MBBS/BDS seats to the Round 3 seat matrix. Of these, 100 are BDS seats at Datta Meghe Dental College, Nagpur. These seats were added to the counselling pool, which does not mean all 183 have been allotted.

The vacancy documents cited show 10,808 virtual vacancies and 6,191 clear vacancies. These are figures from the vacancy matrix, not confirmed allotment numbers.

Candidates should keep checking mcc.nic.in for the final result, allotment instructions and any change in deadlines before planning their visit to the college.
