Bengaluru, September 17, 2026: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has wrapped up the seat allotment part of UGNEET 2026 Round 2. The final allotment list came out on September 16 at 2 PM, and now the process has moved into its last stage — paying fees, downloading the seat confirmation slip, and reporting to the college you've been allotted.

So, if you're a candidate waiting for some new update dated September 17, there isn't one to wait for — everything you need to do is already laid out in the final-round instructions. In short: pay your fee between September 16 and 19 (during banking hours), download your Seat Confirmation Slip, and report to your college by September 21, 5 PM.

How we got to the final list

Round 2 didn't move in one straight step — it went through a few stages, and KEA has been clear that only the final result should be trusted now.

  • September 11: KEA put out the first, provisional allotment for Round 2. At that point, reports put the numbers at around 11,626 MBBS seats and 2,689 BDS seats allotted.

  • Choice-4 exit window (September 11, 3 PM to September 14, 5 PM): This gave students a way out if they were holding seats in both MCC counselling and KEA counselling — they could exit the KEA seat and keep their MCC one instead. Put simply, choosing "Choice-4" meant opting out of KEA counselling altogether.

  • Once those exits were recorded, KEA re-ran the Round 2 allotment using the choices candidates had already submitted — there was no fresh round of filling options at this stage.

  • September 15: A revised, second provisional list came out, followed by a window for candidates to raise objections.
  • September 16, 2 PM: KEA released the final Round 2 allotment — this is the one and only list candidates should now go by for anything related to admission.

Because of the Choice-4 exits and the subsequent re-run, the earlier provisional numbers don't hold anymore and shouldn't be used as a reference.

The final numbers

Based on statements from KEA's executive director, here's how Round 2 finally shook out:

  • MBBS (Medical): Of the 12,010 total medical seats available, 11,551 were finally allotted, leaving 459 seats vacant after this round.
  • BDS (Dental): All 2,689 seats were filled.

For candidates, the takeaway is simple — the allotment part of Round 2 is done. What's left now is just completing the admission paperwork within the given deadlines.

What you need to do now

Here's the sequence KEA has set out after the final allotment:

  1. Check your allotment status on the KEA website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/, under the UGNEET-2026 section (Medical and Dental have separate final lists).
  2. Pay the required fee between September 16 and September 19, 2026, during banking hours.
  3. Once you've paid, download your Seat Confirmation Slip — you can't report to college without this.
  4. Report to your allotted college with your original documents and finish the admission process by September 21, 2026, 5 PM.

One thing KEA has stressed, which candidates tend to overlook: getting a seat allotted doesn't mean your admission is confirmed. It only counts as complete once you've paid the fee, downloaded the confirmation slip, and reported to college — all within the deadline.

Don't go by the old PDF — use the final list

If you're still looking at the September 11 provisional allotment, switch over to the September 16 final list right away. That earlier number — 11,626 MBBS seats — belonged to a stage that's since been overtaken by the exits and the re-run. The number that actually counts now is 11,551 MBBS seats.
