Bengaluru: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has declared the UGNEET 2026 Round 3 provisional seat allotment result for medical and dental admissions. According to reports based on KEA’s October 3 notice, the most urgent thing for candidates on October 5, 2026 is the Choice-4 / seat cancellation deadline at 12:00 noon. Once it passes, KEA is expected to re-run the Round 3 allotment using the seats freed up through Choice-4 and cancellations.

Round 3 provisional allotment: 861 seats offered

The provisional Round 3 allotment covers 861 seats in total. These were allotted on merit and on the options candidates entered in Round 3.

  • MBBS: 503 seats
  • BDS: 358 seats
  • Total: 861 seats

This result is only provisional. Please do not treat your allotted seat as final until KEA finishes the re-run.

What you need to do by 12 noon today (Oct 5)

KEA has given candidates a short window to act, depending on their situation. The 12 noon deadline matters a lot because the re-run allotment will be done only after this window closes.

Till 12 noon, candidates can:

  • Choose Choice-4 (exit from KEA counselling) in certain dual-allotment cases
  • Cancel or surrender the seat (a penalty may apply in several cases)
  • Send a special confirmation email in one particular MCC + KEA situation (explained below)

Choice-4 vs cancellation: know the penalty rules

  • Choice-4 (exit) and cancellation/surrender are not the same thing, and the penalty can differ. As reported:

If you got a seat in both MCC Round 3 and KEA Round 3 and want the MCC seat

  • You can select Choice-4 and exit KEA counselling.
  • No ₹10,000 penalty applies in this specific case (as reported).

If you already joined a KEA seat in Round 1/2 but now want the MCC Round 3 seat

  • You must cancel/surrender the KEA seat.
  • A ₹10,000 penalty applies (as reported).

If you got a seat in another state’s counselling and don’t want the KEA seat

  • You can cancel the KEA seat.
  • A ₹10,000 penalty applies (as reported).

If you simply don’t want the KEA Round 3 seat

  • The cancellation option is available.
  • A ₹10,000 penalty applies (as reported).

Special case: email “Confirmation of My KEA Seat”

One group of candidates needs to take extra care. This is you if you:

  • joined a seat in MCC Round 1 or Round 2, and
  • got another seat in MCC Round 3, and
  • also got a seat in KEA Round 3,

and you still want to keep the KEA seat. As reported, you must email KEA with these details:

  • Email: keauthority-ka@nic.in
  • Subject: “Confirmation of My KEA Seat”
  • Mention: CET number, name and rank
  • Deadline: Oct 5, 12 noon

What happens next: KEA will re-run Round 3 allotment

After the Choice-4/cancellation window closes, KEA will use the vacated seats to re-run the Round 3 allotment. Please note:

  • The re-run will use the options you have already entered in Round 3.
  • There will be no fresh option entry for the re-run.
  • After the re-run provisional result, Choice-4/cancellation may not be available (as per reports).

A bigger warning: higher penalties after the final Round 3 result

Be careful about surrendering a seat later. Reports say that after the final Round 3 result, the surrender penalty can go up sharply (for example, higher amounts for MBBS and BDS), and more restrictions may follow.
