Bengaluru: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released the provisional seat allotment result for UGNEET 2026 Round 2 on 11 September 2026. According to available reports, 11,626 MBBS seats have been provisionally allotted out of 12,010 available medical seats, while 384 seats remain vacant, largely linked to the management quota. On the dental side, all 2,689 BDS seats have been fully allotted.

However, candidates must note that this result is provisional and not final. KEA has announced that the Round 2 allotment will be re-run after the Choice-4 window closes, which means the current allotment is subject to change.

What is Choice-4 and who is it for?

The Choice-4 facility is available from 3:00 PM on 11 September to 5:00 PM on 14 September 2026. It is specifically designed for candidates who have received seat allotments in both MCC Round 2 and KEA Round 2 and wish to accept the MCC seat and exit the KEA counselling process. By selecting Choice-4 on the KEA portal, such candidates formally withdraw from KEA allotment.

It is important to understand that Choice-4 is not a general upgrade option. Selecting it without understanding its consequences could lead to losing the KEA allotted seat entirely.

Why will KEA re-run Round 2?

Once the Choice-4 window closes, seats vacated by candidates who opted to join MCC will become available. KEA will then re-run the Round 2 allotment process to fill these newly vacant seats. During the re-run, candidates' previously submitted options will be used as-is—no fresh choice filling or modification will be permitted.

This means candidates could potentially receive a higher-preference seat in the revised result, depending on vacancy, merit and applicable rules. However, this is not guaranteed.

What should candidates do now?

  • Check the provisional allotment carefully on the KEA portal.
  • If allotted seats in both MCC and KEA, evaluate Choice-4 before the 14 September deadline.
  • Wait for the revised/final Round 2 result, the date for which has not yet been announced.
  • Do not assume the current allotment is final.
