Here’s something worth knowing: even though the revised schedule is clearly visible on JCECEB’s official pages, the Round 3 merit list PDF might not show up right away in the publicly indexed “Download” section. Until the merit list and seat matrix actually appear on the portal (or reflect in the counselling system), it’s safer to say they’re “scheduled for release today” rather than assuming they’re already out.
Revised Round 3 schedule: key dates and timings
The revised programme for Round 3 has separate windows for new applications and edits:
- New candidates’ online application: September 20 to 24, 2026 (up to 6:00 PM)
- Registered candidates’ application editing: September 24 (6:01 PM to 12:00 midnight)
- Round 3 State Merit List: September 25, 2026
- Round 3 Vacant Seat Matrix: September 25, 2026
- Choice filling begins: September 28, 2026
- Last date for choice filling: October 7, 2026 (up to 6:00 PM)
- Choice editing window: October 7 (6:01 PM to 12:00 midnight)
- Provisional allotment letter (download window): October 9 to 14, 2026
- Document verification & admission: October 10 to 14, 2026
So, to be clear — September 25 isn’t the seat allotment day. It’s the day the merit list and vacancy position get published, which will then guide choice filling starting September 28.
Why the vacant seat matrix matters
The vacant seat matrix due today will show how many seats are available across MBBS, BDS, and BHMS for Round 3. It’s worth reviewing carefully before you fill your choices, since the vacancy position can shape what’s realistically possible in terms of allotment and upgradation.
Who can take part in Round 3?
Round 3 generally includes:
- Fresh/new candidates who applied during the September 20–24 window
- Already registered or merit-listed candidates, who don’t need to reapply but must still go through choice filling to be considered for allotment
If you were allotted a seat in an earlier round, it’s worth reading the upgradation rules carefully. If you land a new seat in Round 3, your previously admitted seat may get cancelled automatically, and you’ll need to take admission at the newly allotted college/course as per the rules.
Important: don’t mix up the different “correction windows”
JCECEB also issued Advt. No. 87, dated September 21, 2026, which gave a separate opportunity to correct particulars or categories in an earlier merit list. This is different from the Round 3 application editing window on September 24 (6:01 PM to midnight). Make sure you’re following the notice that actually applies to your situation.
