Ranchi, September 20, 2026: The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has revised the counselling schedule for NEET UG 2026 admissions to MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses in the state. The new timetable has been issued through Advt. No. JCECEB/46/26-84, dated September 17, 2026, following instructions from the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), New Delhi, issued on September 14, 2026.
Round 2 deadline extended till September 19
As per the revised notice, the biggest change is in Round 2. Both key steps — generating the Provisional Seat Allotment Letter and completing certificate/document verification with admission — have been extended till September 19, 2026 (within the September 12–19 window). This extension covers State Quota MBBS, BDS and BHMS seats, and the same extended dates also apply to the All India and NRI quota schedules mentioned in the notice.
Round 3 counselling to run from September 20 to October 14
With Round 2 ending on September 19, round 3 counselling will begin on September 20 and continue till October 14, 2026. This round will cover new registrations, the merit list, choice filling, seat allotment and college reporting.
Here is the complete revised Round 3 schedule from the official notice:
- New candidate online application: September 20 to September 24, up to 6:00 PM
- Application editing window: September 24, 6:01 PM to midnight
- State Merit List: September 25
- Vacant Seat Matrix display: September 25
- Choice filling starts: September 28
- Revised Vacant Seat Matrix (after AIQ surrender, if any): October 5

- Editing of filled choices: October 7, 6:01 PM to midnight
- Provisional seat allotment: October 9 to October 14
- Document verification and admission at the allotted institute: October 10 to October 14
Important rules candidates should know
JCECEB has also clarified a few important rules for Round 3:
- Candidates who are already admitted through Round 1 or Round 2 can still take part in Round 3 if they want to upgrade their course or institute against remaining vacant seats.
- If a candidate gets upgraded in Round 3, their earlier admission is automatically cancelled, and they must join the newly allotted institute or course.
- Upgrades are allowed only up to Round 3 — this is the last round where switching or upgrading is possible in this counselling cycle.
- When upgrading, the category or quota may change depending on vacancy and merit position.
