Rohtak, October 2, 2026: Round 3 of Haryana NEET UG Counselling 2026 is now underway on the official counselling portal run by the Department of Medical Education and Research, Government of Haryana. The portal has listed a "Round-3 Tentative Vacant Seat Matrix" for MBBS/BDS admissions (Academic Session 2026-27), dated 01 October 2026. It gives candidates the latest look at seat availability before the next stages.

There is another important update. UHSR's academic notifications, also dated 01 October 2026, carry a revised tentative seat matrix for 50 newly added MBBS seats in Round 3 at MMU, Sadhopur, Ambala. So Round 3 is not just about leftover seats. New MBBS seats are also being added to the counselling pool, and you should check the latest matrices again before you finalise your preferences.

Vacant seats: what the tentative matrix shows

Reports based on the Round 3 tentative vacancy data show 557 vacant seats across MBBS and BDS:

  • MBBS: 414 seats
  • BDS: 143 seats
  • Total: 557 seats

Treat these numbers as tentative and indicative. The vacancy position can change because of resignations, category conversions, upgradation movement and seat additions (like the new MMU seats). The safest thing to do is use the latest matrix on the official portal while filling your choices.

Round 3 schedule: key dates to track

As per the Round 3 schedule on the official counselling portal, the main dates are:

  • Fresh registration / editing / fresh choice filling and locking / willingness submission: 28 September to 10 October 2026 (up to 11:59 PM)
  • Provisional seat allocation: 12 October 2026 (grievances can be raised on the same day)
  • Provisional tuition fee payment: 12–14 October 2026 (up to 11 PM)
  • Physical document verification: 15–16 October 2026 (from 9 AM) at Sushruta Auditorium, Pt. B. D. Sharma UHS, Rohtak
  • Provisional admission letter download: 15–17 October 2026
  • Last date of joining: 17 October 2026 (up to 4 PM)

An important rule: Round 1/2 choices won't count in Round 3

One point candidates often miss: choices filled in Round 1 and Round 2 are treated as null and void for Round 3. Even if you are already registered, you have to submit fresh choices for Round 3 within the allowed window. In the same way, if you want an upgrade, make sure you submit the required willingness through your login.
