The Commissionerate of Medical Education (DME), Chhattisgarh, has begun the Round 5 Special Stray Vacancy Round for NEET UG 2026 MBBS and BDS admissions. The round aims to fill seats that remain vacant after earlier counselling rounds. Registration and choice filling started on 3 November 2026 at 11:00 am and will close on 5 November 2026 at 11:59 pm, according to server time.

Important Dates

  • Online registration opens: 3 November, 11:00 am

  • Choice filling and locking begin: 3 November, 11:00 am

  • Last date for all three processes: 5 November, 11:59 pm

The official notice is dated 2 November but was listed on the counselling portal on 3 November.

Who Can Apply?

  • Fresh candidates who have not registered for Chhattisgarh NEET UG 2026 counselling can register now.

  • Previously registered candidates may participate only if they were not allotted a seat in any earlier round.

  • Candidates who were allotted a seat and either did not join or later left it cannot claim eligibility on that basis.

Previously registered eligible candidates must complete fresh choice filling. Their old preferences have been treated as empty and will not be considered.

Fees and Key Conditions

  • Non-refundable application fee: UR/EWS/OBC ₹1,000; SC/ST ₹500; NRI ₹10,000.

  • Security deposit: government college UR ₹10,000; reserved category ₹5,000; private medical college ₹1 lakh. BDS-only applicants need not pay a security deposit.

  • Candidates shifting from government to private college options may have to pay the difference in security deposit. For example, a general-category candidate may pay an additional ₹90,000 after a ₹10,000 government-college deposit.

The free edit facility remains available until the deadline. However, NEET data, mobile number and email address cannot be changed.

Choice Filling and Seat Allotment

Seat allotment will depend on the candidate’s state merit rank, available vacancies, filled choices and applicable reservation rules. Aspirants should check the latest Round 5 seat matrix, not an old Round 4 vacancy list. They should include only those colleges where they are genuinely willing to study, because allotment followed by non-joining or leaving the course can lead to forfeiture of the deposited amount.

Candidates must also ensure valid Chhattisgarh domicile, category and PwD certificates where applicable. Other-state candidates may apply to private medical and dental colleges under management quota, but not to state-quota seats.

Document verification and reporting dates for Chhattisgarh have not yet been announced in this notice. Students should keep checking the DME website and counselling portal for the provisional merit list, allotment result, scrutiny schedule and admission instructions.

For eligible aspirants, this is a valuable but tightly regulated opportunity. Completing registration, paying the correct fee and locking preferences early will help avoid last-minute stress.
