The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has commenced Round 2 of UGMAC-2026 counselling for admission to MBBS, BDS, B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Veterinary), and B.F.Sc. (Fisheries) courses in the state's government and private colleges.
This follows two official notices issued on the UGMAC notice board on September 11, 2026, under Advertisement No. BCECEB(UGMAC)-2026/05 and /06, pursuant to which the Round 2 online process commenced on September 12, 2026.
Official notices and related documents are available on the BCECEB UGMAC portal.
Two Distinct Deadlines on September 15
September 15, 2026 constitutes the principal deadline for Round 2; however, the applicable cut-off time differs by candidate category:
- Fresh candidates (new registration and application, with fee payment): last date is September 15, 11:59 PM
- Candidates already registered in Round 1 (Round 2 consent and payment, where applicable): deadline is September 15, 10:00 PM
This distinction is significant, as Round 2 does not require fresh registration from all candidates. Most Round 1 candidates are required only to submit consent to continue in the process, whereas new applicants must complete registration and payment in full.
Three New MBBS Colleges Added to the Seat Matrix
A significant development in Round 2 is the inclusion of three additional medical colleges in the counselling matrix, based on the Bihar Health Department's reference Letter No. 1246(1), dated September 10, 2026.
Two new government medical colleges have been added:
- Shri Ram Janki Medical College & Hospital, Samastipur — 42 state-quota MBBS seats
- Government Medical College, Chapra (Saran) — 42 state-quota MBBS seats
One new private medical college has also been added:
- Kurma Sanskriti Medical College & Hospital, Kurma, Jehanabad — 50 MBBS seats, comprising 43 under the Unreserved category and 7 under the NRI category
Collectively, these three institutions contribute 134 MBBS seats to the Round 2 matrix. Certain existing private colleges reportedly have additional seats as well. Candidates are advised to base their choice filling strictly on the revised Round 2 seat matrix rather than the matrix used in Round 1.
Revised Seat Matrix: 1,295 Seats Across Four Course Categories
The Round 2 seat matrix comprises 1,295 seats in total, distributed across four course categories, not limited to MBBS and BDS:
- Government MBBS: 323 seats
- Private MBBS: 844 seats
- BDS: 51 seats
- B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.F.Sc.: 77 seats
- Total: 1,295 seats
MBBS seats alone account for 1,167 of this total, comprising 323 government seats and 844 private seats.
Round 2 Schedule: Key Dates
- Rank card publication: September 17, 2026
- Choice filling, editing, and locking closes: September 18, 2026 (11:59 PM)

Provisions for Round 1 Candidates: Freeze, Float, and Resignation
Round 2 also accounts for movement arising from Round 1 outcomes, including upgradation, resignation, and altered preferences — collectively referred to in counselling literature as “virtual vacancies.” Such vacancies may arise from upgrades or withdrawals but are not guaranteed.
Candidates who selected the Freeze option in Round 1 and wish to continue in Round 2 are generally required to submit consent, typically authenticated via OTP. Candidates who selected Float remain eligible for upgradation under the applicable rules. Candidates who resigned or withdrew from a Round 1 seat may find their earlier choices invalidated and may be required to submit fresh choices for Round 2.
Restrictions on Editing Application Details
Certain core particulars are treated as non-editable during the Round 2 editing process, per the available counselling guidance. These include the candidate's name, parents' names, date of birth, gender, disability status, mobile number, and email ID. Candidates are advised to verify all details carefully prior to final submission, as certain edits may alter the applicable fee or security deposit requirements.
