Patna: The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) released the official notice for UGMAC-2026 Round 3 on 30 September 2026. But candidates should note one important thing: fresh online registration and application-cum-choice filling for Round 3 did not start on 30 September. As per the official schedule, it will start on 3 October 2026.

Round 3 is part of the Bihar UGMAC-2026 state counselling for admission to MBBS, BDS, B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.F.Sc. seats in government and private institutions across Bihar. BCECEB has also asked candidates to check the latest seat matrix and counselling rules carefully, because the number of vacant seats can change due to resignations and upgradation.

Key dates for UGMAC Round 3 (as per the BCECEB schedule)

  • 1 to 2 October 2026: Resignation/withdrawal window for Round 1 and Round 2 candidates (security deposit will be forfeited).

  • Who can take part in Round 3?

BCECEB has allowed several types of candidates to participate:

  • Fresh applicants who did not register earlier, provided they are eligible and have not already been admitted to any medical or dental college.
  • Candidates who registered earlier but did not complete their application submission or payment.
  • Candidates who had already submitted their application and now need to give Round 3 consent to participate.
  • Candidates who did not get any seat in Round 1 or Round 2, or whose seat was cancelled under the applicable rules.

There is a special rule for Round 2 Float candidates. They can edit and rearrange their choices, but they cannot delete the choice that was already allotted to them. Only its position can be swapped.

Seats, fees and security deposit

The revised seat matrix published before Round 3 shows 1,634 seats across government and private colleges. BCECEB has said that vacancies may change, so candidates should check the updated matrix again before locking their choices.

The counselling fee for government seats is ₹1,200 (UR/EWS/BC/EBC) and ₹600 (SC/ST/DQ). For private medical and dental choices, the counselling fee is generally ₹1,200.

The security deposit differs a lot from seat to seat. It can be up to ₹2,00,000 for private medical options and ₹50,000 for private dental options, so families should plan their finances in advance.

Important warning for candidates who joined through AIQ (MCC)

BCECEB has clearly stated that candidates who have joined or taken admission through AIQ (MCC) counselling may be treated as ineligible for Bihar Round 3, based on weeding-out data.

Candidates should also check the fee structure of private colleges before filling their choices, because the Board does not take responsibility for any change in private college fees.
