Patna, September 17, 2026: Bihar's medical counselling body, BCECEB (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board), is closing the Round 2 registration window for UGMAC 2026 — the state's Under Graduate Medical Admission Counselling — today, September 17, at 11:59 PM. This follows the revised schedule the Board issued on September 15.
There's no new UGMAC notice from BCECEB on September 17 itself, so candidates should keep going by the September 15 notice, Advertisement No. BCECEB(UGMAC)-2026/07, which is still the latest one in effect. This is the notice that changed key dates such as the UGMAC Rank Card and the Round 2 seat allotment result.
So, what exactly is today's deadline?
BCECEB has actually set two different cut-off times for today:
New or newly eligible applicants can register online, submit their application, pay the fee, and edit their details until 11:59 PM.
Candidates who already applied earlier and only need to give their Round 2 consent (with payment) have an earlier deadline — 10:00 PM.
Payments can be made online through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI, as per the revised notice.
Why did the Round 2 schedule change at all?
The September 15 notice explains that a letter from the Health Department, issued the same day, changed the seat pool for Bihar's counselling. As a result:
K.K. Medical College & Hospital, Rajgir (Nalanda) has been added as a new private medical college in the counselling process.
Himalaya Medical College & Hospital, Paliganj (Patna) has gained 50 additional MBBS seats.
With these changes, and an updated seat matrix uploaded, BCECEB had to extend and revise the entire Round 2 timeline.
Revised Round 2 dates: rank card, choice filling and result
Here's the updated Round 2 timeline candidates now need to follow:
UGMAC Rank Card: September 19, 2026
- Last date for choice filling, editing and locking: September 20, 2026 (till 11:59 PM)
- Round 2 provisional seat allotment result: September 24, 2026
- Provisional allotment order download: September 24 to 28, 2026
- Document verification and admission: September 26 to 28, 2026
This is an important change for anyone still going by older timelines that expected the Rank Card sooner.
Seat matrix highlights: what the revised PDF shows
The revised Round 2 seat matrix, released as an official PDF, lists a total of 1,295 seats across all courses:
- MBBS (Government): 323
- MBBS (Private): 844
- Total MBBS: 1,167
- BDS: 51
- B.V.Sc. & A.H.: 49
- B.F.Sc.: 28
BCECEB has cautioned that these numbers could still shift because of upgradation and virtual vacancies.
Worth noting: for government MBBS, the two colleges added earlier in Round 2 — Government Medical College, Chapra and Shri Ram Janki Medical College & Hospital, Samastipur — each show 42 seats in the revised matrix.
On the private MBBS side, BCECEB's notice confirms 50 extra seats at Himalaya Medical College & Hospital, though the matrix currently lists 61 seats for the institute. Candidates should read both the notice and the matrix carefully before finalising their preferences.
Choice filling rules candidates should remember
BCECEB follows a merit-cum-choice system, so candidates need to arrange their choices in strict order of preference and lock them before the deadline — locking happens through OTP authentication. While the rules do allow choices to get auto-locked after the deadline, it's safer not to depend on this and to lock choices well in time.
For anything further, candidates should rely only on the official BCECEB UGMAC page and the latest notices or seat matrix PDFs.
