Patna, 22 October 2026: Medical aspirants in Bihar face a decisive moment today as the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has fixed 22 October as the final deadline for choice filling, editing and locking in the UGMAC-2026 Stray Vacancy Round. Candidates must complete the process by 11:59 PM, or they stand to forfeit remaining opportunities in this last counselling stage.

The Stray Vacancy Round Rank Card is also scheduled for release today. However, as of mid-morning, its live availability on the portal could not be independently confirmed. Aspirants should verify the official website themselves rather than assume it has been issued.

Key Remaining Dates

  • Provisional Seat Allotment Result: 24 October

  • Allotment Order download: 24–26 October

  • Document verification and admission: 25–26 October

New registrations closed on 21 October. Today’s window is mainly for already registered eligible candidates.

Seat Position

Counselling reports indicate around 324 vacancies: 249 MBBS (26 government, 223 private), 17 BDS, 18 B.V.Sc. & A.H. and 40 B.F.Sc. seats. Most MBBS openings are in private colleges. These figures are indicative; candidates must consult the official Seat Matrix PDF for college-wise and category-wise details, as updates remain possible.

Eligibility: Not Open to All

Stringent rules apply. Candidates already admitted via earlier UGMAC or AIQ rounds for MBBS/BDS are generally ineligible. Limited exceptions exist for those whose Round 3 seats were cancelled under specified conditions; some may be restricted to veterinary or fisheries courses only. Previously registered candidates without seats or those who had not filled choices earlier could participate after giving consent by 21 October.

How to Complete Choice Filling

  • Log in to the UGMAC portal with NEET roll number and password.

  • Verify personal, contact and educational details.

  • Select colleges and courses in order of preference after studying the latest seat matrix, fees and eligibility.

  • Save choices, then lock them using OTP.

  • Download the Choice Slip immediately.

Do not restrict options to a single college. Saved but unlocked choices may auto-lock after the deadline, yet candidates are strongly advised to lock them personally.

Fees and Security Deposit

Counselling fee stands at ₹1,200 (₹600 for SC/ST/DQ candidates choosing only government colleges). Security deposit ranges from ₹5,000–₹10,000 for government institutions to ₹2 lakh for private medical colleges and ₹50,000 for private dental colleges. Payments must show as successful on the portal; bank deduction alone is insufficient.

After Allotment

Successful candidates must download the provisional allotment order, upload scanned documents and report physically to the allotted college on 25–26 October with originals. Failure to report can result in seat cancellation and forfeiture of the security deposit.

Documents to Keep Ready

NEET admit card and scorecard, Stray Round Rank Card, Class 10 and 12 certificates, Bihar residence and caste/EWS certificates (if applicable), Aadhaar, six passport photographs matching the NEET photo, and other specified papers.

Candidates should visit bceceboard.bihar.gov.in for authentic notices, as any corrigendum will supersede earlier schedules. Timely and accurate action today remains essential.
