Kolkata, 11 October 2026: The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) will announce the revised Round 3 seat allotment result on 12 October 2026, after 4 PM. Its urgent notice, issued on 10 October, also says that a revised counselling schedule will be published soon.
For MBBS and BDS aspirants, the first thing to do is check the revised allotment and the updated reporting instructions. Do not rely only on documents you downloaded earlier.
Why Is the Round 3 Result Being Revised?
The revision follows Notice No. 25 issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on 10 October 2026. MCC has asked states to remove candidates who have already joined All India Quota (AIQ) seats up to Round 3 before processing state Round 3 allotments. This applies to candidates who have actually joined AIQ seats, not just those who were allotted one.
MCC said AIQ Round 3 reporting ended on 9 October 2026. The aim is to stop candidates who have joined AIQ seats from getting another seat through state counselling. The notice refers to Supreme Court directions on filtering joined candidates before the state Stray Vacancy Round. State authorities can download the list of joined candidates from MCC's data-sharing portal.
Do Not Confuse the Existing PDFs
There are two documents that candidates should not mix up:
- Earlier Round 3 result: The PDF on WBMCC's website is titled "Provisional Seat Allotment Result Round-3". This is not the upcoming revised result.
- Revised provisional candidate list: This is dated 3 October 2026 and lists candidates eligible for Round 3 choice filling. It is not a seat allotment result.
The urgent notice does not say that every candidate's allotment will change. Check the revised result to see your own outcome.
Revised Reporting Schedule Still Awaited
Under WBMCC's earlier schedule dated 17 September 2026, Round 3 reporting and admission were planned for 12, 13 and 14 October, from 10 AM to 4 PM. The same timetable gave 8 October for the original allotment result and 15–16 October for Stray Vacancy registration.
As of 11 October 2026, no replacement schedule was listed on the official schedule page. The urgent notice does not clearly cancel the earlier reporting dates, so check for fresh instructions before making any admission plans.
What Should Candidates Do Now?
To avoid confusion, you can follow this checklist:
- Check the official page: Once it is published, look for the revised result under WBMCC's UG Medical & Dental Counselling section.
- Compare allotment details: Check your All India Rank, allotted college, course, quota, category and allotment status against the earlier result.
- Save copies: Download the relevant PDFs so you have them for reference during admission.
- Review reporting instructions: Confirm the admission dates, fees and document requirements.
- Prepare documents: Keep the required originals and applicable certificates ready, but check the updated instructions before you travel.
