Thousands of MBBS and BDS aspirants in West Bengal are waiting for this result. The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) is expected to announce the Revised Round 3 Seat Allotment Result today, October 12, 2026, after 4:00 PM.
This follows an urgent notification (Memo No. DME/Spl.corresp/2026/112) issued by the Directorate of Medical Education on October 10. Along with the revised allotment list, WBMCC will also release an updated counselling schedule with the new admission and reporting dates.
Why Was the Round 3 Allotment Revised?
The Round 3 seat processing is being redone because of a strict rule. As per directions from the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and MCC Notice No. 25, candidates who have already got and joined seats under the All India Quota (AIQ) Round 3 (reporting ended on October 9) must be kept out of state-level Round 3 processing.
The main reasons behind this decision are:
- Stopping seat blocking: Removing candidates who are already admitted under AIQ prevents double allotment and seat hoarding.
- Fair chance for others: Deserving state-quota candidates get a fair and transparent chance at the vacant seats.
- Not Round 4: This is only a recalculation of the Round 3 allotment. It is not the start of the mop-up or stray vacancy round.
Old Timeline vs Current Status
The first schedule had set the Round 3 result for October 8, with reporting between October 12 and October 14. The revised process has replaced that schedule.
Please do not act on any allotment letter issued earlier. Admissions will go ahead only on the basis of the new allotment published on or after October 12.
