The Directorate General of Medical Education & Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh has released a revised schedule for UP NEET UG 2026 Round 2 counselling on the official website, upneet.gov.in.

The revised timetable was issued on September 20, 2026, and it replaces the earlier Round 2 schedule announced on September 11 after the counselling process was briefly disrupted.

According to the latest official notice, titled “REVISED SCHEDULE FOR ONLINE COUNSELING OF UP NEET UG 2026 SECOND ROUND,” the Round 2 merit list is scheduled to be released on September 21, while online choice filling will begin today at 2:00 PM.

UP NEET UG Round 2 Revised Schedule

Candidates should keep the following dates in mind:

  • Round 2 Merit List: September 21, 2026
  • Choice Filling: September 21 at 2:00 PM to September 24 at 11:00 AM
  • Seat Allotment Result: September 25, 2026
  • Allotment Letter Download and College Reporting/Admission: September 26 to October 1, 2026

Choice Filling Closes at 11 AM on September 24

One deadline that candidates should pay close attention to is the closing time for choice filling.

The choice filling window does not remain open throughout September 24. The exact closing time is 11:00 AM on September 24, 2026.

This gives candidates roughly three days to check their options, arrange their preferred colleges and courses, and submit their choices carefully.

What Is Scheduled for Today, September 21?

Two important activities are scheduled for candidates today.

First, the Round 2 merit list is scheduled to be published today. However, if the merit list PDF is not yet visible on the official portal, candidates should understand that it is still scheduled for release rather than already released.

Second, online choice filling will start at 2:00 PM today. This means candidates may have only a limited gap between checking their merit position and preparing their final choices.

Why Was the Round 2 Schedule Changed?

The UP-NEET UG counselling schedule has gone through several changes in recent days.

DGME had originally announced the Round 2 schedule on September 11, with activities planned between September 17 and September 21. However, on September 17, 2026, the Round 2 counselling process was postponed due to “unavoidable circumstances.”

As a result, the earlier choice filling and result dates could not be followed. DGME then issued the new revised schedule on September 20.

What About the Rescheduled Round 1 Process?

Round 1 had also undergone changes during September because of developments related to reservation implementation in four government medical colleges: Ambedkar Nagar, Kannauj, Saharanpur and Jalaun.

According to the latest development mentioned around the September 20 notice, the rescheduled Round 1 process was cancelled. However, admissions that had already been completed through Round 1 are expected to remain valid, subject to candidates checking their individual status and following any further instructions issued by DGME.

Important Things to Remember While Filling Choices

Candidates should not assume that their Round 2 chances will be based on the earlier Round 1 lists. Round 2 allotment will be based on the Round 2 merit list.

Candidates should also avoid using old seat matrix figures as Round 2 vacancy numbers. They should refer to the Round 2-specific vacancy or seat matrix issued by DGME when it becomes available.

While submitting choices, candidates should arrange colleges and courses carefully because the order of preference matters. They should also check the fee-related notices applicable to private and minority institutions on the official portal.
