The Madhya Pradesh Directorate of Medical Education (DME) has released the tentative schedule for the Mop-Up Round of the MP State Combined NEET UG Counselling 2026-27, covering MBBS and BDS courses. If you’re still waiting for a seat in the state, here’s some good news — you can now start planning your next move, since the fresh registration window opens on September 28 and stays open till October 2, 2026, up to 11:59 PM. This comes from a notice dated September 21, which you’ll find on the official MP Online counselling portal.

Who actually needs to register again?
This is the part that trips a lot of students up. According to the notice, if you’re already registered in MP state counselling, you don’t need to register again. Fresh registration is meant only for eligible NEET UG 2026 qualified students who haven’t taken part in the earlier rounds.
If you registered earlier but didn’t get a seat, there’s nothing extra to do right now — just wait for the revised merit list on October 3, and then go ahead and fill your fresh choices.
Fresh choice filling is a must for everyone
The DME has made it clear that fresh choice filling is compulsory for the Mop-Up Round. Whatever choices you filled in Round 1 or Round 2 won’t carry forward on their own. So, every student taking part needs to log in, put together new college and course preferences, and lock them in before October 7, 11:59 PM.
The vacancy list also comes out on October 3, so it’s worth checking seat availability by college, course and category before you finalise anything. It’s also a good idea to check the fee structure and bond conditions carefully — especially before locking in a private college choice.
A big warning if you’re already admitted in Round 2
Along with the Mop-Up schedule, DME has extended the Round 2 resignation window — it now runs from September 22 to October 1, up to 6 PM. But here’s the catch: if you resign from a Round 2 seat, you won’t be eligible for any further round of MP state counselling. On top of that, there’s a penalty of Rs 2 lakh for non-NRI candidates and Rs 10 lakh for NRI candidates.
So, resigning from a seat you already have, just to try your luck in the Mop-Up Round, is a genuinely risky move — one that could leave you with nothing at all. If you’re hoping for a better college but don’t want to take that risk, DME has separately reopened the willingness link for upgradation, from September 24 to October 1 (up to 4 PM). That’s the safer route to use instead of resigning.
Reporting and documents
If you get a seat in the October 10 allotment result, you’ll need to report in person to your allotted college between October 11 and 14, up to 6 PM, with all your original documents for verification. It’s worth keeping these ready well in advance:
