Patna, September 21, 2026: The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has set 21 September 2026 at 11:59 PM as the final deadline for Round 2 choice filling, editing and locking under UGMAC-2026 counselling for MBBS and BDS admissions. Eligible candidates should complete the process before the deadline instead of waiting for the last minute, as technical issues can sometimes occur near closing time.

This deadline is part of the revised Round 2 schedule issued through Advertisement No. BCECEB(UGMAC)-2026/08 dated 17 September 2026. The notice is listed as the latest update on the board’s official notice page. The schedule was revised after Mamta Medical College and Hospital, Chintamanpur (Daraundha, Siwan) was included in the updated Round 2 seat matrix, which led BCECEB to extend and shift some of the key dates.

This is not the registration deadline

Candidates should keep one point clear: 21 September is not the last date for fresh registration or application editing. The extended window for registration/application submission and application editing closed on 18 September 2026 at 11:59 PM. The consent/payment step for candidates who were already registered also ended on 18 September at 10 PM under the revised schedule. Today, only the choice stage remains open, which means candidates can review, edit and lock their preferences.

Round 2 Rank Card is already available

BCECEB released the Round 2 Rank Card on 20 September 2026. A dedicated “Round-2 Rank Card of UGMAC-2026” link is available on the official website. Candidates can log in with their UGMAC ID and Date of Birth to access it. Checking the rank card is useful before finalising choices, especially because the seat matrix has been revised.

Why candidates should check the revised seat matrix

BCECEB uploaded the Second-Round Revised Seat Matrix on 17 September 2026. The revised matrix includes the following colleges and MBBS seats:

  • Government Medical College, Chapra (Saran): 42 MBBS
  • Shri Ram Janki Medical College & Hospital, Samastipur: 42 MBBS
  • Kurma Sanskriti Medical College & Hospital, Kurma (Jehanabad): 50 MBBS
  • Mamta Medical College & Hospital, Siwan: 100 MBBS

The PDF shows 1,445 seats in its visible total row. This should be read as the total shown in the Round 2 revised matrix, not as Bihar’s overall sanctioned MBBS/BDS seat count for 2026. BCECEB has also noted that virtual vacancies may arise because of upgradation, resignation or withdrawal, so the availability of seats can change during the counselling process.

Choice locking: do not wait until the last minute

Under the counselling instructions, candidates generally save their choices first and then lock them to finalise the preference list. Locking or unlocking requires OTP authentication on the registered mobile number/email. The rules also mention that saved choices may be auto-locked after the deadline. Even so, candidates are advised to lock their choices manually before 11:59 PM and download the Choice Slip for their records.

For today, the simple sequence is: Rank Card → Revised Seat Matrix → Arrange choice order → Save → Lock (OTP) → Download/Print Choice Slip

What happens after choice locking?

According to the revised schedule, BCECEB is scheduled to release the Round 2 Provisional Seat Allotment Result on 25 September 2026. Candidates will be able to download the Provisional Allotment Order from 25 to 29 September. Document verification and admission are scheduled for 27 to 29 September 2026.

Candidates should rely on the official BCECEB website for further updates. Earlier dates, including the previous choice-filling deadline and earlier result date, should not be followed after the schedule revision.
