Bihar’s medical admission process has thrown in another last-minute twist. As per the BCECEB UGMAC-2026 Round-2 notices — the detailed notice dated 11 September 2026 and the follow-up extension notice (Adv. No. 08) dated 17 September 2026 — the Board has updated and extended the Round-2 schedule after adding a new private medical college to the mix.

Why the sudden change?

In its 17 September 2026 notice, BCECEB explained that, based on a letter from the Bihar Health Department dated 17 September, a new private medical college has been added to UGMAC Round-2: Mamta Medical College and Hospital, Chintamanpur, Dharaundha, Siwan. With a new college in the picture, the seat matrix has been updated too, giving candidates a few more options to consider. So, if you were planning to simply repeat your earlier choices, it might be worth taking a fresh look — new seats can shift things more than you’d expect.

Important rules for Round-1 candidates

If you’re a Round-1 “Freeze” candidate and want to take part in Round-2, you’ll need to log in and give your consent first — as per the 11 September detailed notice, this step is non-negotiable if you want to be considered for an upgrade. You can edit your choices in Round-2, but you generally can’t delete your Round-1 allotted choice — the most you can do is change its position in your preference list.

If you resigned or withdrew your Round-1 seat, or were processed under Free Exit, your earlier choices are treated as null and void, which means you’ll need to fill in fresh choices for Round-2. Candidates who didn’t get a seat in Round-1 can go ahead and edit their choices and whatever application data is permitted. And if you’re a Float candidate, you don’t necessarily have to do anything — Round-2 allotment can still go ahead using your existing choices.

Bottom line: the schedule is out, the seat matrix has changed, and Round-2 brings a few extra options to the table — so it’s worth reviewing your choices carefully rather than just going with what you filled earlier.
