About the course:
The Doctor of Medicine (MD) course is a postgraduate medical degree for MBBS students who want to study and specialize in a certain field of medicine. The eligibility criteria for MD are an MBBS degree. After completing an MBBS degree, students can go for an MD program. MD in Physiology is a type of postgraduate medical program in which students study various mechanical, physical and biochemical functions of the human body or other organisms, their organs and cell compositions. It is very similar to the MD Anatomy course. Anatomy is the study of form while physiology is the study of functions. MD Physiology course is certified by the Medical Council of India.
During MD Physiology, individuals learn about the vital functions of an organism including its growth and development, the processing of nutrients after their absorption, the synthesis and distribution of proteins etc.
After completing MD in Physiology, individuals can expect a salary of 60,000 to INR 80,000 per month. Individuals can also work in nursing homes, private hospitals, government hospitals, clinics, colleges/institutes etc. They can also work as a professor in various universities/colleges. Currently, in India, there are various private/government colleges/institutes where an MD Physiology course is available. The fees in private colleges are usually higher than the government ones. The tuition fees for MD Physiology can go from INR 5,000 to INR 10, 00,000 per annum.
