JIMSH consists of a Central Library and 17 Departmental Libraries, which collectively support the teaching, research, and extension programs of the college. The Central Library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, journals, the back volume of journals, theses, WHO publications, CD ROMs, and internet services.

Admission to the Library
The Library is open to bona fide members. Admission to the library is allowed on producing Identity Card/Consultation Card. Readers are required to sign the gate register kept at the counter.

Lecture theatres:

• Four Air Conditioned Lecture Theatres with a seating capacity of 180 students each. 
• All Lecture Theatres are equipped with world-class audio-visual aids & are under 24-hour CCTV surveillance.
• All Lecture Classes are recorded & students also have the facility to attend live classes from the hostel in case of any illness with prior permission from the concerned authority.

The Examination Hall is also equipped with Audio-Visual facilities and can be utilized as a Lecture Hall as well.

ANATOMY LABORATORY:
The Anatomy Laboratory has been built with the best in class equipment and managed by highly qualified and experienced faculty members.

BIOCHEMISTRY LABORATORY:
The Department of Biochemistry was established in November 2016 by the amalgamation of parts of the Departments of Physiology and Pathology. This department strives to achieve excellence in the fields of medical education and diagnostics by providing holistic education inclusive of up-to-date knowledge and research in the field of clinical chemistry, compassion for the patients, and courtesy for fellow soldiers with an ultimate aim to fulfill the mission of this JIMS Hospital & Medical College. 

PHYSIOLOGY LABORATORY:
Department of Physiology was established in November 2016 at Academic Block in JIMS Hospital with an annual intake capacity of 100 students. Department also participates in teaching laboratory methods in physiology to students of medical laboratory technicians training courses run by the directorate of medical education and research.

Sports and Games Facilities: 

The campus has facilities for outdoor games like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, and Basketball and a 400-meter track for athletics. The indoor sports complex at JIMSH offers provisions for indoor games like carom, chess, and others. The Physical Education department, under the supervision of a qualified Physical Director, caters to the physical development of the students. The responsibility of the Physical Director is to conduct and supervise all intramural activities for the entire year. This ensures that students are well-trained and competitive in any state or national-level event.
JIMSH also has provision for a playing arena for girls where students can indulge in sports like badminton, football, throwing the ball, and basketball.

Cafeteria:

   MBBS

There are two bachelor’s degrees in the domain of MBBS a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery. A total of 150 seats are there and the duration is 5 years, 1 year internship in the last year of the course.

·      Eligibility: To be eligible, applicants are required to have completed their 10+2 or an equivalent exam from a recognized Board, Council, or University, and have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combined, as well as have passed English. Additionally, candidates must have reached the age of 17 years by 31st December of the year of examination. Other details are given below:

Duration: The duration of Postgraduate Medical Education in broad specialties is three years for the degree course after completion of MBBS. 

ELIGIBILITY FOR NEET- PG: 
NEET-PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate) is an entrance examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations for admission to various postgraduate medical courses such as MD, MS, PG Diploma, etc. in India.

The eligibility criteria for NEET-PG admission are as follows:

1. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a recognized MBBS degree or provisional MBBS pass certificate from a recognized medical college or university.
2. Internship: Candidates should have completed their one-year compulsory rotating internship on or before 31st March of the year in which they are appearing for NEET-PG.
3. Registration: Candidates should have a valid registration certificate issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council (SMC).
4. Citizenship: Indian nationals, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons with Indian Origin (PIO), and foreign nationals are eligible to appear for NEET-PG.
5. Minimum Qualifying Marks: General category candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in the NEET-PG exam, while reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC) must secure a minimum of 40% marks.
6. Age Limit: There is no age limit for NEET-PG.

Educational qualifications

• The HSC exam in any stream must be completed by a recognized board or university by the applicant.

Mandatory subjects

• One must have physics, chemistry, biology–botany, and zoology along with English as mandatory subjects in the HSC exams.

Qualifying marks

• General category applicants must score more than 45% marks in the qualifying exam
• Reserved category applicants must score a minimum of 40% marks in the HSC exams.

Recognized Board

• Applicants who want to get admission to the university must have cleared the HSC exam from a known board like AISSCE, CBSE, ICSE, SSCE, HSCE, or equivalent board.

Appearing applicants

• Applicants who are appearing for the final exam of the HSC exam in the current year are also eligible to apply.

Age criteria

• Applicants must be above the age of 17 years at the time of admission.
• No maximum age limit is decided for the applicants by the authorities.

GNM Course(3 Years)

The eligibility criteria for admission to the GNM Nursing training course depends upon two factors, one is Educational Qualification and the other Age limit.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have to pass the Higher Secondary Examination (10th+2) from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any recognized Council/Board for applying to the GNM course.

Age Limit

• The minimum age limit of the applicant must be 17 years and the maximum is 27 years as of 1st January 2020.
• The candidate must be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of the District of West Bengal, from where the candidate wants to apply. (It means, if your permanent resident district is Hooghly, then you can only apply for Hooghly District).

Selection Process

• Candidates will be selected for admission to the General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) course based on their marks obtained in the Higher Secondary Examination & through the entrance examination to be held in June.

Selection will be made strictly based on the total marks obtained in the compulsory subjects (one language subject + English and the other best of three subjects except for Envs.) in the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination. Vocational stream students are not eligible.
